So everyone is going to tell me what I said on Eve's post is wrong? My brother and many many friends have been in the same situation and it always comes out the same way, just like I stated in my post. Would you like me to lie? I was not trying to be mean to Eve at all. I hope things work out well in her situation. She asked a serious question and I gave her a serious answer from my personal experiences. Nothing else.

To be honest......Literotica is just not fun for me anymore. I used to come here everyday and really enjoyed posting and reading stories. This has nothing to do with any one particular person but more so the group as a whole. Has anyone ever seen me make the posts like I have this week? That should tell you something. The fact that quite a few new and long time members have left lately should tell you something also. I am asking Laurel to remove my profile. I wish everyone(yes even Lasher) well!

Well what can be said except, that rather than hear what John said, some posters would rather rip him to shreds... he may not be perfect and he may have posted some curt replies, but why throw that in his face rather than listen to a valid point that he makes?
It may not be valid to you, but it is valid to him and perhaps many others, who just chose to remain quiet so as to not incur the wrath and rebuke of some here.
I am sure I will receive negative and critical remarks too.
But isnt this BB for witty, sexy and fun repartee? Or is it just to bash and trash a new person each week?
I like this place, many posts are funny, interesting and sometimes silly...but some are mean and cruel, if pointing that out makes me a whiner...then you miss my point entirely.
And if my responding and fighting back makes me disallowed from making this point, you miss the reason for this all together.

Thanks for letting me express my opinion, I know many won't agree, but then that is what makes this so interesting, you don't have to agree with me, just don't attack me for my thoughts.

Not to jump into the fray... I went back and read this thread and the other John started as well as the Wilf threads and I don't think that John has a right to act like he did. John came to the board and asked advice. Everyone gave it to him. He ignored everyone then posted another post asking once again what to do. Lasher told him the truth, that his question had already been answered and that all he was doing was posting nastiness to the site and increasing "Wilf's" notoriety. Many others agreed with Lasher, and expressed similar sentiments. John then singled out Lasher and attacked him not once but twice.

Why does John have the right to speak his opinion, but no one has the right to criticize him? Chatmic, I'm going to make an observation and I want you to listen to me and take it as my observation, not as an attack. I went back and read your posts and it seems that you have on many occasions jumped in and insulted people. Then when they argue back you get upset because they "attacked you". May I make the humble suggestion that you not dish out what you can't take? If you truly believe that this is a place for those to express their opinions, then you must accept that all have the right to do so, not just you and not just John. Like I said, I don't want to get to deep into this argument. I just want to make the point that no one here is immune from criticism and that people who live in glass houses should quit throwing bricks with every post.

I stood up for myself, If that means I cant now make a statement, then so be it. But dont disregard the statement cuz you dont like the person making it.

I get your point, and I think trueamerican addresses it adequately. No one was keeping John1965 from expressing his opinions - they simply gave their opinion of what he had to say. It's a shame that this upset him to the point that he felt he needed to leave, but this IS a free forum for expression. If you don't want to hear the opinions of others, then don't post. If you post something in a public forum, don't complain when people comment on your post. It's really simple.

On a side note, I'm a little sick of people blaming Literotica for the fact that they don't get along with certain people. It's not my job to "protect" people from other people. YOU ARE ALL ADULTS. If you get in a tiff with another board member and don't feel like coming here anymore, that's your right. I think it's silly to let one person spoil your enjoyment of a place, but it's your life. However, to then go on to say that Literotica sucks because YOU managed to get into a screaming match with someone else here is not only inaccurate but unfair.

I've said this many, many times. I'll probably say it many more times. When you enter into a community as a new person, it is YOUR JOB as an ADULT to assimilate into it. For you to get all upset when the gang doesn't throw you on their shoulders and carry you in a parade is childish. Those respected oldsters here have earned the respect they receive. You can, too, if you make the effort.

The bottom line: you're an outsider if you make yourself an outsider. If you make yourself a part of the group, you're a part of the group. If one chooses to come in and attack regulars and make vague complaints about cliques and other conspiracies (which has happened at regular intervals since the BB began), don't come crying to me when people don't like you. This is a very friendly, very open board to those who come to find friends and exchange ideas. However, if you're here to spread shit, don't be surprised when you're served your helping. That's the absolute last thing I am going to say on this. This is giving me another headache.

I originally was and still am attracted to this BB because of the tremendous variety of personalities and the wide disparity of opinions. For heaven's sake people, lighten up and recapture your sense of humor!

I used to offer up what I thought were insightful <my opinion only>, sometimes lengthy and occasionally humorous posts. However, more and more, I find myself at a complete loss. DCL, TrueAmerican and Laurel, of note, all have passed on some "pearls" in this thread. Please take them to heart!

John, you have been and hopefully will continue to be, a breath of fresh air. Nevertheless, as DCL pointed out, you may be taking the wrong approach. You have a sense of humor. Damnit, use it!
