Which reminds me of a long shaggy dog story about the kid who said absolutely nothing until his seventh birthday party, when he complained about the birthday cake. If you've heard it before, you may recognise the 'punchline'.

When his mother asks why he has never spoken before, the kid replies: 'There's been no need. The food has always been fine until now.'
