Were the 10th most armed country, but I think the USA has enough weapons to cover #3 to # 10 a couple times over....Most of us who own cottages and rural properties have a shotgun or a deer hunting gun.
We just don’t brag about it the way you guys do.

That's why I said wildlife. And not for hunting, but during mating season or when the animal is starved or gone rogue. When you say a person is not a threat, is there never violent crime in Canada? I know the people are fine with a tyrant for a pm but what of a desperate or crazed person off their meds?I have many rifles, I think the count is 18, but it might be 17 or 19.They are spread out over three homes. I also used to target shoot and owned several handguns decades ago.
The answer is yes I have a need for rifles. Since I hunt, I have a need for rifles and shotguns, and depending upon the game, certain rifles/calibres are better geared for different game animals, which is why I a few. What I don't have needs for are rifles that are designed to kill people, since people up are not a threat.
FYI, there is no open season on Leopards in Canada...the people who run the Zoo's here might get a bit antsy at us hunting a caged animal.....
Mistake, Bobcats, Lynx and Cougars are the wild cats to be aware of in rural areas of canada.
Is that what you call yourself these days? You’ve been tangling with a rabid cougar in this thread.

I never claimed a person was not a threat, what I stated was, they are not armed...it's illegal in just about every situation for an individual to have a weapon on their person ( read handgun for this). When you say a person is not a threat, is there never violent crime in Canada? No, not concerned about gangs, that's going to happen regardless of laws. My question is, what to you, is a weapon? Or a violent threat?I never claimed a person was not a threat, what I stated was, they are not armed...it's illegal in just about every situation for an individual to have a weapon on their person ( read handgun for this).
So if I am not armed, and my potential threat is not armed, but the LEO's are armed,it makes for a much more polite society, one I am afraid your kind will not understand. (BTW I am now waiting for your "what about the gang member or .... post).
So theres no attacks from wild predators in all of history of Canada? It doesn't matter if it's rare, and it's not about being "afraid" its about being prepared to defend yourself and others. Good, sane, prudent people don't ever wish to use their self defense weapon. They wish they die, never having to but can pass the weapons down for both defense and a financial inheritance.Read some of my older posts...try the search post option here using the words off grid.
I've fed via hand both lynx and bobcats. NO danger from them. As to Cougars, yes they can be a minor threat, as can black bears. I don't even carry a walking stick, bear spray or any type of firearm when out walking in the bush (unless hunting). Your fears are about them are unfounded.
Lots of items are weapons, I don't need to make up a list, I am sure there is one somewhere. My question is, what to you, is a weapon?
Getting kicked out of the pub before closing time used to be one of my all time worse threats.Or a violent threat?
It's about balancing the risk, and the risk is minuscule. We have a better chance of dying of a heart attacked before a bear gets you. Again, it is your "society of fears" which are causing you to be posing these stupid scenarios. So theres no attacks from wild predators in all of history of Canada? Good sane people don't need to have weapons of self defence in a society that looks down on upon that type of thinking.Good, sane, prudent people don't ever wish to use their self defense weapon. In the UK, since the 1920s, wanting to have a firearm for self-defence is NOT an allowable reason. It's about balancing the risk, and the risk is minuscule. Here you don't have to have a reason, you just need to pass a couple courses on firearm safety and competence. After you pass, you can then legally own firearms that meet Canada's Firearm regulations. In the UK, since the 1920s, wanting to have a firearm for self-defence is NOT an allowable reason.
If you own a 308 or 30:06 they were designed to kill people. M-1 garand (.30 cal), BAR (30:06) M-14 (308)I have many rifles, I think the count is 18, but it might be 17 or 19.They are spread out over three homes. I also used to target shoot and owned several handguns decades ago.

Never said they were not, did I? I have .308, and .303's. The .308 is a model 100, basically a striped down version of the M-1.If you own a 308 or 30:06 they were designed to kill people. M-1 garand (.30 cal), BAR (30:06) M-14 (308)

What my comment was in the quote, was about AR-15's specifically.
Never seen a Cougar in person, just tracks, around here the population is transitory.Post #54
I ran into 2 mountain lions while hunting archery as close as 30 meters away, never threatened,
same here, and I have been even had a bluff charge from a female with cubs...just stood my ground, with my hands held high, looking as big as I could...she bluffed, then barked, then left....run into bear all the time,
Not many moose left in my area, MNR fucked up years ago, stopped the bear hunt, kept the tag count high for moose. Between the hunters in the fall and the bears taking the calf's in the spring, the population plummeted. I've not seen a moose here now in about five years.now we have moose, seen 2, 2 years ago
I'm seriously tempted to make your life a fucking misery. It's a warning, not a restriction. Would it appease you if I word it differently? Because it doesn't say they can't post on the thread, says it's a place where those comments occur and if they don't like it, then this thread is not for them. If you or them want to take that as Don't post if you're a Snowflake, then good. Don't come here, I personally don't want whining bitches here.
