He thought about what Scarlet had said about his people accepting Scarlet as his lover. While his people accepted Merlin when he was alive, he was only his adviser. Scarlet however was more, she had been his friend for as long as he could remember. They were both taught by Merlin himself, of course she was taught much more than a simple education, but the were still together in everything they did. "Well you are still known as the daughter of a brave knight" he reminded "and not many know of your... magic. what the people don't know, won't hurt them". He kissed her as everything at that point seemed perfect.

She looked at him, and sighed some. She didn't like keeping things from people, but she was afraid if people knew. That they would reject her, and want to get rid of Arthur. Scarlet looked into his eyes yet again. "I don't want to keep secrets from your people, but I will for you. If I caused you harm in any way, I would hate myself for the rest of my life. All I want is you Arthur, not the crown, nor the gold. But you as a human being." She said softly.

Arthur knew that Scarlet was not too happy about keeping her magic a secret, but he wasn't so much afraid of his sake, but more her's. He wasn't sure how his people would react and the last thing he would ever want was for her to be hurt. "I don't want you to change who you are" he confessed to her "Merlin saw greatness in you, and eventually so will the people. We will have to present your abilities to them in small doses to the people, but for now all they will see is two close friends who have finally fallen for one another". He smiled at her, running his fingers over her neck in an attempt to tickle her wanting to see her smiled "Do you think Merlin predicted this.... us being together."

Scarlet nodded as she listened to him, he was over protective. But she loved it, he knew what was best. When he touched her neck she laughed and smiled, but when he asked what he did. For a moment she wondered herself. "Perhaps, you know him. I think we were meant to be together, we both have history. A lot of history, and I love that about us. We have always been close, even with you being king. But most likely he knew" Scarlet said with a grin on her face.

And so there they laid with one another, two friends who had grown up together. Now in the arms of one another. This was all that Arthur dreamed of, to be with Scarlet. He there could be some complications in the future, but he was ready to face it with her. "We should get some sleep" Arthur said as he looked out at the night sky, giving her one last kiss before he closed his eyes.

Scarlet nodded, cuddling against him it didn't take long for sleep to take over. When she woke up, it was very early. She looked outside, seeing the sun rising, she looked around. Afraid it was all a dream, but beside her Arthur was there. She relaxed and yawned a little. Thank god it wasn't a dream.

Arthur slept with a clean conscious. He knew it would not be with having Scarlet by his side, but he knew she was strong will as was he. They would get through this. Whether it be the enemies who had tried to kill him or the having the people accept Scarlet as his lover let alone knowing she was a witch. Arthur awoke to seeing Scarlet looking the window, the covers covering half her body as he stood up to kiss her "good morning Scarlet" he said "how did you sleep?"

It was funny how she spent years, years of thinking about the situation they were in. Scarlet always wanted to be more then just friends, but she realized how silly she was. Scarlet should have told him how she felt, but since he was a king and she was just a loyal person. But now there was much to do, when he woke up and asked her the question she smiled. When he kissed her, her smile was even bigger.

"I slept very well, I haven't slept this well in years" She said leaning into him to kiss him.

Arthur kiss Scarlet as well almost as if there were about have another go at it until Arthur broke their kiss "wait" he said to her as he took one out the window, noticing that it had began to snow. He had been glad that not only that the fire in the bedroom had stayed lit but also that Scarlet was here to keep him warm. It was then that he took his necklace from the side of the bed. "I want you to have this" he said as he put it around her. It was the the necklace that was found on his when he was found by castle walls. It had a ring tied to the necklace, Arthur had always it was his mothers and so he cherished always. Now he cherished Scarlet, she meant the world to him, he would protect her as she would for him, for her love was the best present he could ever receive.

((Merry Christmas:heart:))

She looked at him, curious of what was about to happen. But it was then she heard what he said, and in that instant she saw a necklace. When he said what he did about it, she was honored. A big smile on her face once he put it around her neck. "Oh Arthur, it's beautiful. I will wear it always" She murmured lovingly, kissing him she stroked his cheek. "Thank you Arthur, I love you so much" She said softly, kissing him deeply.

"I love you too," replied Arthur as they began to kiss one another again. It seemed almost yesterday that had first met, playing in the woods until they ran into the old house of an old seeming dumb founded man known as Merlin who would take them under his wings and giving the a proper education as well as groom them for greatness. "We should probably get up" said Arthur knowing that the servant could come knocking on the door, if he did not get up soon.

She couldn't help but giggled, she nodded and sat up in bed. She sighed softly and looked back at Arthur. Some day people would question her, but wouldn't say anything to anyone. She always did what was right. She slowly got up and got dressed, she remembered a few things from Merlin. He was a man that no one could ever forget, his power and loyalty to both Arthur and herself, she looked at him. "I wish we could sleep in all day" She covered her mouth with her hand yawning.

Arthur smile at Scarlet's wish to stay in bed all day. He wished they could stay in bed as well, holding each other as they kissed and made loved, trying to keep one another warm. Sadly his royal duties made it to where he had to attend to further matters. Arthur looked over at Scarlet, he loved her so, she was beautiful, loving, smart and strong willed. There was no doubt in his mind that she would die for him though he prayed that day would never. She deserved to be at his side.

It was then that Arthur thought of something, "Scarlet" he said "How would like if I made you my Adviser... just like Merlin was." When Arthur was crowned he wanted Merlin aid him for he was just a orphan with not real knowledge of leading a country and while making a wizard his adviser was somewhat controversial to his people at first, they soon began to trust Merlin as loyal subject to not only Arthur but the land. "You could move into the castle... and we could spend more time together... what do you say?"

Scarlet smiled looking at him, thinking for a moment. But since they had to get moving, she got dressed. By the time she was fully clothed she heard what he said, she turned around a smile on her face. Scarlet was happy and nodded. "Id like that Arthur, spending more time with you would be nice. " She smiled and kissed him. "I wonder what your people will think, not that either of us gives a shit." For a moment, she didn't know what to think, but she remembered when Merlin helped him. She stroked his cheek lovingly and sighed a little bit.

"I would like that" She grinned.

"It doesn't matter what they think" replied Arthur as he kissed, no matter how many time he did so, he never tired of giving her a loving embrace. As the two left his bedroom, he told the land crier to gather the people in front of the castle for a special announcement come sunset. That gave Arthur and Scarlet time to move her belonging into the castle. Scarlet had lived in Merlin's house after his death, she felt the house would in some way hone her magic. "Perhaps we could take a carriage to your home and pack you thing... just you and me, off to Merlin's house".

((hope you don't mind me saying she lived in Merlin's old house))

She smiled at him and nodded, sounded fun to her. "I don't have much, you know me Arthur I'm the simple one" She giggled some and sighed, she looked outside. So many thoughts in her head, she missed Merlin, he had died long ago, and it still felt like he was still around. Who knows perhaps he was. She looked at her lover and friend. "You have always made me happy Arthur" She said sweetly.

Her kind remarks graced his heart like a soft hand, "Well here's hoping I can continued making you happy" he remarked as he began to put on his robe in order to hide himself as the left for Merlin's house. "I would like to visit Merlin's home once more.... I haven't been there in so long". The two met Merlin as children, coming into his door unannounced as a result of playing in the woods. Merlin saw much in Scarlet and Arthur, even saying that he expected them to show up at that. He was full of information telling them thing about the future, things called trains and even going so far as to say that someday people would fly. Arthur smiled at the thought as it made him miss Merlin even more. He looked over at Scarlet knowing she felt the same "we should go" he said.

She sighed and looked at Arthur she had a feeling she knew what he was thinking. But he was right, They needed to do some things, so she thought for a moment. Once they were both dressed, she left the room first. So no one knew what was going out, she didn't feel like explaining what she was doing, Not that she would explain herself, she hummed lowly, thinking of the wonderful time she had with Arthur.

The two left for Merlin's house quietly. Arthur had obtained a horse and carriage for them to take along anything Scarlet would need. He kept his hood over his head as they traveled though the village in order to hide his identity, the last thing he needed were people crowding to him or worse people after his head. Arthur held onto Scarlet's hand as the went through the town and dark depths of the woods, he happy to be with her. Finally they had reached the house, Arthur looking around remembering all the time Scarlet and him spent there.

She smiled as she looked at Arthur, she loved him more then life. And he loved her just as much, squeezing his hand lovingly. When they got there, Arthur did what he always did. Helped her out of the carriage. Scarlet didn't have much, she was very simple. Packing up her things, Scarlet left the house. But she had to do something before she got back in the carriage, she walked a tiny ways and stopped. Before her were graves, her parents graves were beside Merlin. She was thankful he allowed them to be there, she missed her parents so much. Scarlet knew what Merlin would say, but it still hurt. The forest had died when Merlin died, she had always wanted to bring life to it. But she wasn't good enough, but something inside her brought a melody to her lips.

She sang softly, she didn't care who was there watching. Scarlet knelt down as her fingers traced the tomb stones. After a few moments, and she stood up still singing what she was singing. A tear fell down her cheek, but when it left her chin it glowed a white warm glow. When it hit the ground, the forest woke up. And when the light vanished, the forest was alive. She smiled.

Never Alone

Arthur listened as Scarlet sang . He had forgotten how lovely she used to sing, it was something that always sent shivers down his spine. It some way he envied her, for she had parent to miss. Arthur was an orphan, left on a door step taken in by the local regent of the land. He was treated like a servants, cleaning dishes, doing various other chores. Had it not been for Scarlet and Merlin, he would have not much a childhood. Scarlet always coming to play with him and Merlin insisting he had a proper education.

Suddenly as Scarlet began to stand, he thought he saw a white glow drop to the ground. Arthur looked all around as the forest began to grow, the dark color now replaced with a life filled green. Arthur went to Scarlet as if asking if she did this, but he already knew the answer. "You're amazing" he said softly to her.

She smiled some seeing what she had done, but when she heard his voice she looked over. Scarlet looked at him. "I cherish the days we have together, you see me as a person. Not a slave that people just look at. You make me feel like I am worth something, we grew up together in a way. She came back and sighed some, how she wanted to hug and kiss him but they were not alone.

"I'm done here" she said softly.

He nodded as he put his hood back o, leading her back to the carriage as they returned back to the castle. As they passed though the town the saw as the people looked on in wonder at the new revived forest. Arthur smiled at Scarlet knowing it was of her doing. Once within the castle walls, Arthur took her hand to let her down, pulling her to him as he gave her a loving kiss, lifting her up off her feet "I love you, Scarlet" he said to her.

Scarlet smiled and on the way back she heard him say he loved her. Looking back over to him, Scarlet was very happy. Her smile never going away. And when they got out, she felt him lift her off the ground. Kissing him happily, this was the start of something wonderful. And she enjoyed it very much.

Arthur didn't want anything to spoil ans so he decided that he would announce Scarlet his aid tomorrow. For now he wanted to enjoy some quality time with her and enjoy today with the woman he loved. He brushed a stran of her hair away from her face as he smiled at her. "We still have the rest of the afternoon to ourselves" he said to her "is there anything you want to do to fill that time?"
