Fun Fact About Me...

I was on TV on the Art Linkletter show (showing my age here) as a first grader and tried out for the lead role in a Disney movie when I was in 7th grade.

Nothing too crazy, but something that happen recently.

I was at a local store and a woman came up to me. I was worried it was something bad, but she hugged me out of the blue. Apparently over 10 years ago, when her son started riding the school bus, he was having trouble as a mixed race kid and people picking on him. I remembered the kid, but I hardly did anything that amazing, but because I let him sit with me, and stood up for him, and even gave him his nickname that he still goes by as a way, I made A HUGE difference for him. So 10 years later I'm standing with a woman crying and giving me a hug and no clue what to do.

So I guess I'm saying this to show that sometimes small choices have large affects.

I have 4 flutes, including an alto flute, a violin, piano, 4 recorders, a piccolo and an ocarina.

I’m going to avoid making the skin flute joke.

I have about 20 or so guitars. A couple cellos. A piano. Bagpipes. Some other stringed instruments. I don’t play all of them well. Just the stringed stuff, minus the cellos.

At one time I had 6 piccolos. I bought them all on ebay at the same time. They were cheap and I didn't want to lose the auction, so I bid on all of them and won them. One I got for less than $25. I eventually gave one to a student and four to a music teacher.

FFAM: For my graduation present to myself for high school, I road tripped on a motorcycle by myself from San Diego, to Vancouver Canada, to the tip of Maine via Canada, south to Key West, then back to San Diego.

Been a runner for years, and one calendar year when I was much younger (and dumber) I ran every single day of the year, in rain, snow, biting cold, heat and humidity, home, away, even overseas, sick, holidays, birthdays, anniversary (ouch) . . . you get the picture.

FFAM: I received one vote in the 2016 Presidential general election. A friend from high school wrote my name on the ballot and he lives in a place where write in's are acceptable.

If you take the first and last letter of my first name, add it to the first and last of my surname, I become a Star Wars character!
