Funding continuing resolution

The "farm aid" provision is pure unadulterated pork - new payments mostly to industrial soybean farmers for essentially nothing, because Trump tariffs will mean retaliatory tariffs on American soybean exports, which is 60% or more of soy farm income....they want the money allocated now to "pay" them for stuff they cannot export profitably at any price.

Soybean farmers are being crippled in the long term because markets needing to import soybeans will turn to Brazil which has ideal land for cultivating soybeans and with the USA playing Trumpian one-upmanship games, Brazil has had time create massive "super farms" to grow crops and become a major player (and a huge competitor to the USA) in soybean exports.

In the short term, soybean farmers are fucked as long as Trump supports tariffs.
In the long term, soybean farmers are fucked because they can no longer command premium prices for soybeans due to Trump essentially allowing a large new competitor into the market.

In summary, the USA is getting it's ass kicked in Soybean Exports by Brazil and has since 2015.

Democrats should all abstain from voting on any continuing resolution.

MAGAs have control of the House. Make them pass their own bill if they can.
 
If the the government is shut down when Trump takes office, that's gonna put a serious crimp in his plan to be a Day One dictator. How's he gonna deport immigrants? How's he gonna get anything done at all?

Republicans in the House said they had settled on a new version of the continuing resolution ahead of the vote on Thursday after President-elect Donald Trump tanked a previous spending bill that initially won bipartisan support.

But the final vote was 174-235-1. Thirty-eight Republicans flouted Trump and voted against the continuing resolution.

Sounds like those RINOs are being too tough on the Orange Goon and President Musk.

The Orange Goon MUST raise the debt ceiling so he can give tax breaks to the rich while he spends hundreds of billions on deporting Amerika's manual labor force.
 
Republicans vetoed 190 million or so slated to go to pediatric cancer research in order to fund the latest round of billionaire tax cuts.

The FreeDumb Caucus lives purely for disruptive publicity stunts, and they will jerk the chain of the Trump administration every day for the next 4 years. They control the destiny of anything that needs Congressional approval, and they want everyone to know it.

The emerging FreeDumb Caucus vs President Musk dynamic is very entertaining. Poor Diaper Donnie has been sidelined.

If those 38 Republicans are primaried from the right, they will not be replaced in Congress by Trumpers. They will be replaced by Democrats. That's how it usually goes. And no shutdown ever shrinks the government or reduces its payroll.

Not to mention all the laid-off workers busy getting his inaugural parade set to kick off. How the hell is that gonna look for him with nothing set up, no parade route guards, etc? Maybe he'll get Musk to handle the crowds via AI.
