Used to play Call of Cthulhu... one of my fave characters was an Italian gangster who was the sole survivor of our first adventure which ended in a cave-in trapped with some nasties.... and left him sans sanity points so that he had to be committed. When he was released he was claustrophobic and afraid of the dark.

Our second adventure (after finding new team-members) was to the Carpathian Mountains where he got bitten by a Vampire. Next time anyone sees him, he's a garlic-loving (who's deathly allergic to the stuff), claustrophobic, afraid of the dark Vampire! He was one fun character to play!

And my online gaming experience, was many years ago and mostly with UO where my fave character was a man. A pirate (and lady's man) by the name of Alistair Dare who ended up a seriously kick-ass character with a fleet of 15+ boats. (Gave most of them away along with "anti-piracy lessons"!) Had battles with other pirates... or concerned citizens who kept doing silly things like leaving their boats unlocked! Sheesh! Just asking for it if you ask me! Anyway.... I spent WAY too much time on the game and could navigate ANYWHERE in the world in a three point maneuver without anything other than the little compass map in the corner. Can any say... "Get a fu**in life!"? LOL But it was a blast!

I was in the Beta for UO and I hung around with the MERCs there for a bit. But I never got the hang of PVP.

Oh look. I'm dead.

Hey. Look. I'm dead.

Guess what guys?! Dead.

If you don't pay (and you can only pay four weeks in advance at any time, so you have to at least log in once a month and plunk your money down) the house gets repossessed. And then it's an empty lot. Housing here is an entirely different expansion thing. It's not in town, it's its whole set of separate zones. Very cool. It's gorgeous.

That sounds cool. So you'd specifically have to go there, not wade through leagues of shacks just because you want to get to town.

I  CoC, and stories like this are one reason why.

Had an accidental PvP moment last night. I'm at the bank in Ratchet, and this night elf hunter comes up to use the same banker apparently at the same time. Well, there's no collision detection between PC's in WoW, so he and I overlaid one another. When I went to right click on the banker, I was inside him.

All of a sudden, the blue marshmallow freaks out and starts swinging, and I'm taking damage and thinking "WTF?!?" I turn around to see said night elf, and I swear his bland toon face looked surprised. Then a passing Ratchet Bruiser sorted it all out for us. I realised that I swung first because said bruiser took after me initially. The night elf put an arrow in me, so he wound up getting sorted out too.

Clusterfuck all around, but I'll call it a lesson learned - Don't use the Ratchet bank when stupid alliance types are nearby.

Right, and one of the joys of personal homes or guild homes is that you can have a hearth stone to a guild house AND to a personal house. AND a personal bind spot. So basically three teleport options available in an hour and each of those destinations also having porters available. NICE.

I always play PVE and I really do suck at PVP. I would hang out with badass roleplayers and I could talk a good game, but I always sucked at the actual killing. I hated doing it. I lacked an instinct and bloodlust for it.

Warhammer's nice because it's impersonal. I get exp and coin and gear from killing someone, but it's not depriving them of their stuff. That actually makes me sad. Taking someone's stuff away.

I was an IMM on a Mud and the owner of the Mud would always track down my non-immortal characters and extra-special kill me repeatedly. He'd have this thing where he'd just kill me so easily it would get ridiculous. Then he'd just walk into the place I was, put on one of my pieces of gear or use one of my potions, smile and leave.

Nice guy, had lunch with him. But I just knew too many people who loved killing me - AND were much better at it than I was - to actually hang out anywhere PVP for long.

That's really slick.

I've yet to find a situation where I like it, Some people are built for it, and love nothing more. Me, not so much.

My husband's the best RVR player I've ever seen. I cannot keep up at all. He just has a sense for it.

The "perforate artery" move in Dark Age of Camelot is very tricky. Characters doing it are stealthed and move very, very slow. If you try to stalk someone who has normal speed or fast speed during RVR, you get an idea of how difficult it could be. I used to follow his infiltrator around and see what I know I could never pull off.

There are roads in the game and there are a few players that tend to run around the world at very high speeds feeling immune from being stalked.

But I've seen my husband stand in the middle of the road and just wait for one of those guys to run by. He'll line himself up perfectly, calculate somehow all the variables of speed, direction, angle (and I swear - lag and framerate...you have to be head to head or it won't work and you'll fumble it) and then take people down in one shot, someone at high speeds coming straight at him, and he'll time a throat cut perfectly and people fall over dead. Bodies piling up on the road...

He also was really good at using me as bait (Oh waily, waily, waily...I'm a poor lone caster out on my own...oh my! Where is my group?)

He'd wait until someone tried to sneak up on me and then slit their throats.

Impressive.

I'm happy when I can stun someone and circle-strafe around them for a backstab. Whee.

I LOVED the rogue stun.

In warcraft I had stuff mostly stunned the entire time and lined up for multiple backstabs.

That was fun.

As much as I'm enjoying the warlock, I really, really dig the rogue. I enjoy my warrior for roleplay reasons, but the rogue is just a blast to play. viv and I have three duos running right now: hunter/shaman, shaman/warrior, and warrior/rogue. The warrior/rogue combo is by far the most deadly, and really the most fun.

Between the stun and kick, I am really getting a giggle off of whacking NPC casters.

My rogues were "WHEEEEEE!"

In both realms I never played the rogue until I had everything up to par in a crafting sense - tinkering bombs, alchemy potions, enchanting procs, best gear...

Always had all the bells and whistles because she needed 'em if things went wrong and she missed the first move. But maaaaan, when it went right, things just...fell over. Fun.

I just started playing around with bombs. They're a blast!

Er, no pun intended.

Ohmigod. SO CUTE.

One of my favorite mobs in Camelot was the "wee wolf" which is an absolutely teeny tiny little wolf that comes up to the ankle.

Having one kick your ass was humbling but you couldn't help but giggle.

Now I've just zoned into an instanced dungeon that had "wee were" mobs.

Itsy bitsy teeny tiny werewolves that come up to your knee.

WOO HOO!

I  games so much.

And there are...ravening weeweres, ferocious weeweres, rabid weeweres...

SO CUTE!

I got a mini worg as a pet yesterday. He's black.

Mister got a brown and tan one. I wanted the brown one! He wanted the black one! I wish we could trade pets.

We got them from a guy in the Searing Gorge named "Kibler". He gives you a random color.

It's sooo cute, just a tiny, rabid, snapping little baby wolf. Aww.

I loved the baby pandas, tiny Diablos and zergling pets bought with the original game.

Didn't see them much after playing for a while.

Zerglings?!

You could get ZERGLINGS?!

OMG OMG OMG! OMG! OMG! Seriously?! Like, how?! Where? When?

After Beta and if you bought a Collector's Edition of the game on launch, you got one of the three.

I'm sure there are gamers out there that still have 'em in their vaults. Ask around.

The teeny panda was adorable and would fall asleep if you stood still for a bit.

I own starcraft and play it at least four or five times a week. I've had that game for years and years. Zerg are my favorite race. Evil, I know, but the zerglings are soooooo cute!

Oh man, I wish Theae could have a zergling.

You know what though? Ravagers look like Zerg. Maybe I should make a hunter and get a Ravager as a pet.

We're going into Naxx for the first time on saturday, Im expecting a big repair bill! Better check up tactics on WoW head.

Mine won't change colors. I don't know if he's glitched, or what, but I have tried summoning and dismissing him sooo many times and he won't change from black. Waaah! :(
