They are sensing the weather change. They are tired and here in the northeast, thirsty and prepping for winter.I saw bees sleeping on butterfly bush blooms for first time last week. Amazing how the buried into the bloom cluster from the cool night air.
Thank you CCS!All very beautiful. Nice photos.
Yeah it’s been super dry here too. But somehow decent color.Looking great. Not much fall color here with lack of rain. Even the mums aren't as bright colored this year
Where are you located? I’m in the northeast. And it’s been so cold the last few weeks no plant has survived anything.Ok gardeners. Does anyone have any plants this time of year that absolutely refuse to throw in the towel?
I have a helichrysum bracteum which is still trying to flower. It refuses to stop the party. Even the ivy is asleep.
If it keeps this up i might get it some tinsel.

I'm in england so I'm lucky, winters here in the cities tend to be pretty mild!Where are you located? I’m in the northeast. And it’s been so cold the last few weeks no plant has survived anything.
Woah, I'd never heard of echibekia before. Looked it up! I should've guessed what it was based on the name really, if I'd have thought about it for two seconds..Before the cold snap, we still had some black-eyed Susan and echibekkia hanging around a little bit.
My wife and I were really surprised to see flowers in England when we were there in December of 2012.I'm in england so I'm lucky, winters here in the cities tend to be pretty mild!

Mint. I have mint in a hanging basket off my deck that makes it through the winter every year. It doesn't do well in summer. Direct sun and in a pot. Or surviving the winter is all it can do.Is it still alive in this cold??
