I can pick up “Maurice and His Educated Rodents” anytime anywhere and start reading it at any point in the book. The back and forth between Malicia and The Kid is priceless, I like the way she disses him but is actually kinda impressed and drawn to him as well…. there’s an interesting relationship there waiting to happen

Finally got BG3, it's OK but it's no Neverwinter Nights. I thought the background atmosphere was so much better in NWN.
I'm only a couple of hours in so will give it chance.

I agree. It's a really Unpopular opinion, but it's not on the same level. Yes, the graphics are far better, but the content is not on par.

Finished up Alan Wake 2 the other night. An absolute masterpiece in terms of narrative and presentation, but it's held back by weak combat. Exactly like the original.

I'm hearing rumors that Civilization VII might really be a thing! I'm still playing the shit out of Civ VI, so I hope they wait for awhile longer.

This is probably a dumb question, but is it just a random spot of the cosmos void of stars and gas? I wonder how close to a vacuum that area is?

Well, all space is in a vacuum...and it does look like it's a random occurrence. They did that picture they called "The Deep Space Field" where no visible light was present...and when they turned Hubble onto it for an extended exposure, they found more galaxies there than any other location they knew of...confirming that space is a pretty freakin' big place.

More fun? If you are into astrological constellations, consider looking at Taurus sometime. Use binoculars and focus on the area where the bull's horns intersect with the head. That is considered to be THE highest concentration of stars visible. To the naked eye, there are no stars. But with a cheap pair of binoculars? The entire field of vision is chocked full of stars...an amazing sight.

Can't believe I didn't find this thread before... for I am a huge geek, although some of what I used to enjoy from that has been reduced greatly over the past 10 years...

Anyway... when it comes to geeky stuff, I am a Superman fan, mostly comics from the 1980s and earlier, and I have a decent collection of some Superman memorabilia, from action figures to coffee cups and so on. I always look for Krypto the Superdog items, which I consider a separate collection (my previous dog was a white boxer I named Krypto). Looking forward to the next season of Superman and Lois, although sad it's the last one.

I am a big fan of the MCU, and just finished watching Loki S2, although I haven't yet gone to see The Marvels yet.

I'm also a big Star Wars fan, I was one of the lucky ones who were there in Seattle when the original movie premiered, and saw it again at least 10 more times in the following year (yes, it was in the theaters that long). I've been working my way through some of the animated stuff on Disney+ I hadn't seen before. Of course I'm up to date on the live action stuff.

Star Trek may be the only thing that really comes close to my Superman fandom, especially the original series. I'm enjoying the hell out of Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks, and even looking forward to the next season of Discovery. I collect some Enterprises, and a few other items too.

When it comes to music, I'm an oldies guy, from the 50s through the 80s, especially the Beatles. I've got that kind of music on my phone, and on those rare occasions I play the guitar, it's oldies all the way.

I also have a sizeable DVD collection, which includes classic movies, classic monster films, animation, anime, superhero stuff, and much more.

I have written and published seven stories on Lit that are still hot, but I also write non-erotic stuff. I've been working on a book over the past 13 or so months, a collection of stories that connect to each other, that I hope in the next year I'll finish writing and get published.

LOTR Trilogy. As TV Show, used to be GOT until halfway, when it went downhill and ended up a complete rubbish.

What releases are you looking forward to?

Dune Part 2.

Do you have a game subscription that is getting over/under used?

Not into games. The only game I used to play and love was risiko. lol

There are way too many books that I love, have read/want to read to mention here. But it's safe to say that LOTR is my favorite, followed by ASOIAF series. Right now, I'm actually I'm re-reading ASOIAF series. I have just started the 4rth book.

I am also planning to read: Kristin Lavransdatter series, The Book of the New Sun series, The Raven's Mark, Under the Northern Sky, The Broken Empire trilogy, The Foundation Novels.

Planning to read also some Lovecraft stories and finish The Dune series, at least the 6 books written by Frank. So far I've read the first 3 and loved it.

I also would like to read some books that Booboobear recommended to me. I already got them but haven't started yet. Lastly, I'm thinking (since forever) whether should I start reading The Wheel of Time or not. It's a long series and Jordan died before finishing the series. I know Sanderson finished it but if I don't like it I would be pissed, and that's putting it mildly.

Just finished The Wyrd Sisters, Magrat used that line to good advantage

BG3 had been slow and clunky on my (somewhat older) PC. Just picked it up yesterday on the XBox, and it's so much smoother. Controls take a little getting used to, but it's nothing egregious. Definitely having a much better playing experience with it now.
