Geeks, Nerds, Enthusiasts...share your thoughts with me!

I am a big book nerd. Not just for stories in the nerd-sphere (e.g. Star Wars/Trek) but, like I'm a nerd over reading in general.

I'm interested in what y'all are nerds in that may not be considered typical "nerd stuff"*?

*Please note that I'm in the UK and we have different meanings to some words when compared to our American cousins. I understand that in some spheres, the act of reading is a nerd thing.

I'm also a huge book nerd. I have nearly every Star Wars and Star Trek book as Ebooks, I also love Terry Prattchet, Douglas Adams etc.

I'm a comic geek also, Star Wars and Spider-man mainly.

I play WoW, DnD every Tuesday and many many more things.

I read some good Star Wars books when I was a kid. I need to look at those again.

Ah ok, so here my knowledge fails. I read the pre-prequel books, so young Obi-Wan with Qui-Gon Jinn. Are those pre-Disney?

Video games... the bane of my existence... I should have finished writing two short stories in September, but my son bought Starfield for me. I think you can see where this is going... I'll see myself out. I have an outpost to check on and the Crimson Fleet won't crush itself.

Boy, is this a loaded question...
Keep in mind that I have way, way to many hours into this game already. I am playing it and loving it. That said:

First, absolute eye candy. Just beautiful, well worth the price of upgrading my PC.
Second, it is a Bethesda game which means it was rushed out, slapped dash at the last moment as is the "Bug- thesda" business model.
Third, thus far, the stories have been engaging, even the throw- away side quests have had meat in their bones.

All in all, I love it.

I haven't tested the NG+ option (the new "end of the main story line" feature) yet, I may never. I've got nearly a thousand hours on Fallout 4 (multiple starts) and have yet to bother finding that damned kid.

Also, while I love Bethesda's games out of the box, since Skyrim they haven't truly become great until the Modding community is turned loose.

WW2 with specific focus on the early years of SAS

That's quite the book collection! I used to read everything Star Wars, but gave up during New Jedi Order because it was just depressing. I've been very selective during the Disney era, mostly just the Thrawn stuff and whatever else looks good. I liked the Inquisitor novel they just put out, but I can't get into High Republic at all.

I'm a huge comic nerd. Star Wars got me into that (Tales of the Jedi, man I loved that series). Also Daredevil. I very nearly have every issue of the solo Daredevil ever published. I think I need 7 more issues. I love Spider-Man, but my Spidey is Ben Reilly so I don't actually read much anymore. LOL.

I had been playing it, but it was running really clunky on my PC. I'll probably pick it up again when it's available on XBox (or when I get a newer PC).

There's a few of us playing it. Are you enjoying it?
Yes and no. I'm an old school TSR gamer and it really captures a lot of the feel of the Forgotten Realms. And its absolute eye candy. I can't short the look of it at all. It's very worthy of the first two in the series. But no where near as good - IMO - as the original Neverwinter Nights. Better graphics, smooth game play, but NWN just brought more to the table.

My only complaint is the little extras that keep popping up, things that simply aren't and haven't been DnD rules. Apparently these are held over from some other CRPG the company makes. I'm not familiar with them so I usually just ignore them. At the same time, the weapon specific attack options have made it into my TT game.

One of my favorite authors is Sir Terry Prachett. As an American I had to look up some of his phrases a few times. Lol

I didn't even know it was coming, but I'd already upgraded my PC for Starfield when bI trooped over it.
