Hey everyone! Just thought I'd give y'all an update on my feet...

I went to the hospital today and found out where I stand. The good news is that I'm allowed to start weight bearing. Ofcourse, there is bad news to go along with it. That news is the fact that the weight bearing status is really just a tease. You see, it's not as if I can just ditch my wheelchair and walk around. On the contrary, I'm not allowed to walk without a Physical Therapist present. Then, for the next two weeks I'm only allowed to bear 50% of my weight. So I can only walk inbetween parrallel bars. The third week I can bear 75% weight and I don't know what that entails, but a PT person must be present. So bottom line is that I'm not going to be able to walk on my own for another three weeks.

Now this three week countdown can't start until I get orthodics for my feet. These can take mutliple days to make so I'm realistically looking at 4 weeks till I can walk. Also, I can't start weight bearing PT without these things. It's not absolute that my insurance covers them, and they are $450 a piece! A piece of plastic molded to fit my heel..it doesn't even go past my ankle! Can you believe that? :confused:

Anyways though, I can bear 50% weight!! WOO HOO..better than these last three months have been! I'm officially at the 12 more months till I can climb again! It's all uphill from here as far as I see it :)

Well I hope you all had wonderful days. I'll be around Lit constantly at least for the next 4 weeks...I have nothing else to do :)

Morning everyone,

Well this week is going by in a hurry too. Its already Wednesday. I havent even looked at a christmas present to buy. Any suggestions on a MP3 player. I'm looking to buy one, and there's only a thousand out there. Any comments would be helpful.

Not, I was thinking about all the therapy you're going through, and I was wondering....ARE YOU NUTS? Somebody is giving you another chance at life and your going to do it again? I know you like your hobby alright, but maybe you ought to think about a different hobby. I mean how the hell are we gonna know if something happens to you? Who's going to tell us. We would think you just left without saying anything. Its something to think about. Maybe if you do climb again, you could leave instructions for someone to let us know whats going on. We kinda like having you around.

SD, hows it going sweety?

Bama, youre getting a little frisky eh? Now theres a side we dont see much. I LIKE IT!!!

Thanks man. That's really nice of you to say. It's always nice to feel a part of the group :)

As far as going again, it's really hard to explain. I try my hardest to live my life in the moment. It's quite hard to explain, as it's mostly a spiritual thing and therefor best if one discovers it on their own. The thing is, climbing is one thing where I'm always living just for the moment. Nothing else matters except the move I'm trying to get. Sometimes you and your partner will sit in front of a rock all day climbing up to one move that you just can't get. Your heart is strong enough to keep you going though. You'll battle through the pain and dissapointment because you know it will be worth it. It doesn't matter if you're a professional or a beginner, that heart is always the same for a true climber. You'll never get better than the rock. There's always something that will throw you off and if you don't have heart, you'll never get the problem. You have to be motivated enough to know that you'll get it. No matter how long it takes, you commit to the rock, and it may seem cheesy, but to me it is like a ceremony.

One climber, when asked what his reason for climbing was replied:
"That moment between knowing that you've cracked it and topping out is the moment that climbers search for. That moment when the pulse begins to race and the joy overwhelms you and you slow down wishing that the feeling will never end. That is the moment."

It's all hard to explain and you really have to experience it to understand it. But yeah, I have to go back. I may be alive, but I wouldn't be living without climbing. I suppose that's the best I can explain it, and it's only just touching the surface...

Well I hope you are all having joyful days! I just go tback from an MRI and I have another one of those and a CT tomorrow to go to. I'm getting better!

having problems w/ joe again...whatever the hell is to me....i don't know anymore after tonights conversation. he has conviently forgotten a large part of the conversation we had working things out 2 months ago where we actually moved forward in our relationship. i told him tonight that us moving forward was the only thing that kept me from completely walking out the door. when i left i told him i wasn't going to say what i really wanted to say, that i was just going to leave and hope that he thinks about things and may just give me a call. he asked what i wanted to say and i told him "goodbye. i hope you have a nice life, i wish you the best of luck with everything you pursue. " of course he just looked at me and i handed him part of christmas present i had in the car, he asked what it was, i told him, and he tried to give it back to me. i just told him to keep it, and in case i don't hear from him....i ordered them for him, so their his, and i left. we'll see how it works out. even though i can go on at length, that's all i'm going to say on the subject for now.

Sd, Darlin, you just tell him to straighten up and fly right, or your going to dump his ass. Of course it sounds like thats what you told him already. I hope things work out the way you want, but remember there are a lot of other fish in the sea. Yall are not the only two in there you know. Besides I think you could use a little R&R. or maybe a little JT.(thats me) I promise to make your day brighter and full of love.( and you full of me haha).

Been doing pretty good thanks. Working my tail off as ususal and spending time with the boyfriend.
Only plans I have at the moment are spending them with my boyfriend and going to see my mom. I haven't seen her since last Christmas so a trip is way overdue.. How about you?

Morning Everyone,
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was great. We had a our company party on Friday, it was pretty cool. All the free beer we could drink while we were there. Oh yea, food too. Needless to say, my wife drove home. Did a little shoping over the weekend, Damn theres a lot of people in Sav.
It looks like most of us are going to get some rain this week, but it is supposed to be around 79 degrees tom. Kinda different, but it is the south.

I see everybody has been a little busy this week. I can understand that. Work gets a little hectic this time of year here too. Everybody wants everything done before the end of the year. I say we just extend the year a little bit. What could it hurt?

Salvor, its not just a thread, its a home. Your'e more than welcome to join us for as long as you like. We're not all from Ga either, but we still consider everybody family that joins us. its been a little slow this week, but it gets better.

thanks hon. we ended up having a sit down saturday night and if he hadn't gotten the message before, i believe he got it then. when i sat down, i started talking and told him to listen until i finished, and i finished with "you are damned lucky i'm not just walking away and saying to hell with you. "
i don't know if he remembered what he had forgotten or what, but things worked out. as i told ntog, hopefully there won't be a repeat of this anytime soon and if there is, he may not be so lucky.

anyway....
i hope everyone is doing well. it sounds like you had fun this weekend jay.

I WALKED TODAY! Yes, it was only 50% weight, but it was great! It didn't hurt at all which is a really good sign. I think I'll be on my feet without aid in two more weeks! Just thought I'd keep all of you informed. Plus I'm excited as hell so you'd have to hear about it anyway!

Hope everyone is having a great week. Sorry that you've all been busy working and such. I've missed talking to everyone. I'm looking forward to when we can all get back to our usual chit chat :)
