Hey everybody. I've come across this thread on a few occasions, but never really took the time to look at any of the posts (my bad!)- much less post anything myself.

I live in the south eastern part of the state and we really didn't have it too bad over the weekend.

I think most of y'all must live north of the gnat line!

Lots of rain Saturday but not cold enough for ice to form. Gosh, I miss the colder weather we had when I was growing up!

Anyway, hope everyone's week started off okay.

I second that emotion bluenymph. It has that mediteranean sensuality, warm breezes that caress the skin and make clothes seem almost unneccesary.

hmmmm ok I may have a come up with a quick vignette on that one, now that my mind is running with that. Any chance there is a larger version available?

Inspiring pictures and great pizza

bluenymph's avatar reminded me of a pizza place in Athens (bear with me for a bit it will make sense trust me).

In Athen's on Baxter street is (was?) this great place called DaVinci's Pizza. Chicago style thick, over stuffed and flat awesome flavor. Not only was the food great but the decor was wonderful (if you like slightly off-beat). There were stained glass reproductions of Venus Rising, Mona Lisa, etc all over the place.

One that I still remember and always will is this one on your way out. Castle in the background, Man and woman on a horse at full gallop running from the castle in the foreground. Whenever my friends and I would go there we would ponder the stroy of teh picture.

Was he rescuing her from the castle? Was he the captor stealing her away? Were they eloping from her father who wanted her to marry another? Were they running out for some salacious activity to take their places in staid and stoic noble life later?

bluenymph's avatar reminds me of that in that there could be 20 or so stories just from that one picture. IS she the seducer or the seduced? Going to meet a lover or walkling away? Does she hope for that one who will thrill her so, or has she found that she is all she needs in herself?

Ok now I want pizza and I'm off to write a few ideas down.

thanks jay, and here in augusta we had alot of ice also. i couldn't believe it but richmond county officers were out blocking bobby jones expressway (I-520). i got iced in at joe's and had a good time. i wasn't driving back to my place saturday night in case i did come across icey roads, but a friend of ours came over saturday night and with him, joe, me and joe's roommate, we played texas hold 'em. woohooo! i won again! but damn that was a LONG game. it got down to me and the friend who had come over. the roommate was knocked out first, and a few hours later joe was knocked out, then it came down to just the 2 of us and we played like that from like 1:30am until 4am, when I finally took him for all he was worth. i've won 2 out of the past 3 games, and and i lost that one because i basically gave it away (it was down to just me and the same guy again). i guess i'm getting better at playing poker. hehe. cause i know the guy's aren't taking it easy on me, we're playing for cold hard cash. they are ruthless at times.
anyway! yes i was iced in over the weekend, but the weekend went well. it was joe's 34th bday so we celebrated that.

well i'm going to go now. have to work tomorrow 2-9, but i have a job interview at 11am (finally got a call back from mcg), so everyone please cross their fingers and say prayer. i really need the pay and benefits.

Sal, I see your of the philosophical nature. I didnt know you had it in you. How long do you sit at a crossroad and decide which way to go? There are endless possibilities.....

Blue, good to see you can still do your thing.(get us all hot and bothered just by being here).

Sd, glad you had a great time iced in. I hope Joe was happy with his present. Just exactly how many bows did you have on?

unfotunately due to my financial situation i was unable to purchase a present for his birthday (joe was fronting me the money for the poker game and has been for a couple weeks, if i win, he doesn't pay me anything). and i didn't wear any bows. i will get him a late birthday present when i get my first paycheck this week.
