Not so much in the way of "party" times - unless you like beer and go to Asheville. It's not to far and they have some great bars and breweries. There are some great lakes in north Georgia if you are up for renting a cabin and maybe a boat.

There are a number of wineries in North Georgia that are fun to visit for tastings. Dahlonega and Cleveland areas have several, search the internet and you'll find several links. Some I would recommend are: Wolf Mountain, Frogtown, Cavendar Creek, Yonah Mountain, Serenity Cellars & Cottage.

If you like hiking the Appalachian Trail starts here, there are also a number of other trails and hikes to waterfalls and rivers. Speaking of rivers, Helen is a quaint little Bavarian style town with shops, bars, tubing on the river and zip lines. Helen, Dahlonega and Cleveland are all close by.

Further north is Hiawassee, boating and hiking or fishing. Outside of Blue Ridge check out the Aska area, lots of activities.

I know Banning Mills off some beautiful scenery. Zip lining too . Then when done there. Head over to McIntosh Indian Reserve and checkout the Chattahoochee. Also get a boat or borrow one and take a trip down the Chattahoochee to West Point Lake where you can go swimming, tubing, fish, waterski or just have a relaxing day on the lake, like we do over her in West GA.

Unfortunately I am not a north GA boy. Only an occasional business traveler to Atlanta. You guys from north GA need to step up.

That sounds like a very exciting time, but I don't own a boat, or know anyone that would let me borrow one.

I am in western nc, 20 mins from Clayton ga.... Lots of fun things to do around here and not far once you are outside of Atlanta.... Can guarantee there are some GA boys that would like to get ahold of you... And maybe a Carolina boy too
