I'll give Germany credit for their persistance...but honestly their havent impressed me since 95.
I still think the USA would be able to kick German butt in soccer today. USA dont have a bad team after all SF, and Germany is still just a shadow of the power team they once were, hence your statistics.
germany aint got power in Soccer anynmore...they just happen to be the biggest country in Europe, dont make them the best.

ignore soccer ratings they mean nothing at all
germany flopped out of euro2000 thats why you probably dont rate them (and hense poor fifa ranking) but they've since changed there coach and are playing very well
germany are still a very good side ... in qualifying for this world cup they beat england at home recently *spit* hehe ... they have excellant players playing in some of the top clubs in europe (cant say same for USA hehe sorry) and they play very well as a team (germans always very good like that)
also bayern munich the club team won the european champions league so they are the best team in europe *spit* hehe but only technically they have quite a few german players playing for them

It's still so satisfying to know that Denmark (Home country pour Moi) Beat Germany in the European Champoinship finals 1992...I know, a long time ago, but it still feels good, That and we beat Holland and France before then too hahahahaha.

SG, I was at the Bayern final in Milan this year...if Germany win, it will be b/c of Kahn, he's a hell of a goalie. I think 1-0 Beckham with a free kick. God, I do hope so.
Now, as for whether the US could beat Germany, we have, the last two times we've played them in friendlies, though they beat us down back in 98. As for whether or not we have a true soccer rival, it would be Mexico as those games, at least between the players are very intense. True US fans know they are our rivals, but as others have pointed out, the US mainstream public could care less unless its the World Cup, and even then we get told how great the Brazilians are, or how good Holland looks with a return to Total Football (back in 98 at least, today they are struggling in the Ireland/Portugal group).
