Get Well Soon (closed)

Vixen smiled softly as he stepped inside. "I just need to grab my purse and we can go," she said, before moving quickly to her room to grab the purse that she had laid out when she was getting ready. She doubled checked, making sure she had everything she needed before she went back to the living room."All ready."

Shadow smiled and held out his hands to show them empty. He pulled his sleeves up slightly leaving his wrists bare save for a brushed steel watch. He cupped them together as if to hold something and closed eyes, fingers shifting slightly as his brow knit just a little. When he opened his hands again there was a flower in his palms. He gently tucked it into Vixen's hair just beside her ear. "Now we're ready to go." He took her hand and kissed it as he lead her out the door.

She laughed softly at his trick, but couldn't help but feel her heart melt a little bit as he tucked the flower into her hair. She followed Shadow quietly out of the apartment, stopping just long enough to lock the door behind them. "So you know I don't really know more than the basics of swing dancing and even that's been a while," she told him as she squeezed his hand slightly.

"No problem there. I'll pull one of the instructors over for a refresher course before we hit the dance floor."

The Blue Moon itself was rather unremarkable from the outside. Its facade blended in with the other buildings on the block, save for the large neon sign casting a dark blue light over the sidewalk. Inside was a much different affair. The piano key rug at the front door was only the first taste of the decor. The interior was modeled in art deco, but the art on the walls was predominantly Harlem Renaissance and Modernist. The staff beyond the lobby were all dressed in period suits, as were most of the guests at the bar and on the dance floor. The band themselves were all dressed in matching pinstripes and fedoras. It seemed that the 1920's had never ended inside the doors of the club.

Shadow looked over at Vixen, a half-smile on his face. "Do you want to order a drink first? Or shall we have a little review of steps and hit the dance floor now?"

Vixen smiled as she looked around the club. She'd been here once before when she had first moved to the city but since then she'd been just alittle busy to come out to the Blue Moon. It had been so long that the place only seemed to be somewhat familiar to her.

Looking over at Shadow, her smile grew slightly as she thought about his question. "I think we should review then dance," she told him with a slight nod. She was nervous about the dancing, but she wasn't going to let that stop her and she was determined to met that nervousness head on.

"Alright then. A quick refresher on the Lindy Hop and it's out to the dance floor." Shadow walked over a small floor space that had been sectioned off with velvet ropes. A couple of instructors were showing couples the basic steps. Shadow waved at a female panther who beamed brightly at the sight of him.

"Shadow!" she exclaimed and strode up to give him a hug. She was easily over a head taller than him and looked like a big sister embracing a younger brother. Unfortunately, her hug caused Shadow to turn in the wrong way and aggravated his wound.

"Ooh! Don't do that!" She let go abruptly in shock as Shadow put a hand to his side. "Sorry, but... still tender."

The panther's eyes widened in realization and her ears turned down. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't realize it was still that bad. Should you even be out here right now?"

Shadow straightened up and fixed his suit. "Vixen, this is Khady. She was the one who taught me to dance and lucky for us she seems to be available tonight."

Khady looked over at Vixen and smiled. "So you're his date? Guess I missed the boat on that one," she said with a wink. "I am going to miss the flattery though." She playfully took Shadow's hat and ruffled his fair. "If you let him talk, he'll charm the pants right off of you. Maybe literally."

Shadow laughed and swiped his hat back. "I never flatter. I compliment. There's a difference." He put his arm around Vixen's waist and kissed her cheek. "I want to go over the basics of the Lindy Hop before we cut a rug."

Vixen started slightly at Shadow's sudden outburst of pain. Her eyes flicked from him to the panther before them, only once he introduced them. "I think I already learned that lesson," she teased with a soft look to the coyote in question. She was worried about his side now, but she knew that he wouldn't have suggested dancing unless he was up to it.

"There's not much of a difference between the two, and most people don't realize that there is one in the first place. And yes! The Lindy Hop. I haven't gone dancing in years and I was never very good at it in the first place," she said with a soft smile as she looked to Khady.
