Erika Smith hated algebra class. She dreaded going each day. She was a bit of a nerd and her classmates never failed to remind her of that. While they were off drinking, partying and having sex, she was at home usually reading or surfing the net. She hadn't had a boyfriend in a few months now. Her ex boyfriend, Richard, hooked up with some slutty cheerleader who put out for the entire school basically. It was the end of the day and she couldn't wait to get home and away from school. She had a few friends but most of them were part of the popular crowd. There were only three weeks left of school until summer break and she couldn't wait. Erika sat in the back of the classroom, usually keeping to herself.

She sighed as her teacher was passing out their most recent exams. 59 was written in red magic marker on the top of her test. "Fuck." She thought to herself. She needed to pull at least an 80 on that exam or she would be repeating the class during summer school. She heard the bell ring and sighed again, knowing she had to talk to her teacher. She wore a brown skirt, a pink blouse and a pair of flip flops. Her brown hair rested on her shoulder and her black glasses rested on the rim of her nose. Once everyone left, she approached her teacher's desk.

"Excuse me...do you think we could talk for a minute?" She asked as she leaned up against one of the desks in the classroom.

It would not be a stretch to say that math was not Seth Jones love in life. He enjoyed teaching, sure, but when he went to school to become a teacher he didn't think he'd be sitting in an algebra class, going over shit he didn't care about with students that seemed to care about it even less than he did. So, it was with a sigh that he lowered himself back into his chair behind his desk after passing out the last exam he gave, raking his fingers back through his dark hair. He didn't realize how close they were to the end of class until the bell was ringing, blue eyes flickering up to the clock.

"Okay everyone, have a good weekend. Homework is due at the beginning of class Monday, and be ready for the next quiz on Wednesday!"

He began shuffling papers on his desk, as ready for the day to be over as the class clearly was, and so he didn't see Erika walking up to his desk until she was leaning against it and asking if they could talk. Looking up at her, he nodded and gave her a smile, "Of course, Erika, what can I do for you?" He leaned back in his chair, absently scratching the five o'clock shadow on his cheeks as he looked at her.

Erika wasn't the most outgoing girl in the world and she certaintly didn't talk to most of her teachers. She kept to herself, did what she needed to and left. But she knew if she didn't talk to her teacher, she'd be repeating this damned class at summer school. And there was no way she was spending an entire summer in a building that she didn't very much like. Her teacher was friendly enough so she hoped he could give her some extra credit. Just enough to pass the class.

"Mr. Jones...." She started, her voice trailing off a little. She sat on the edge of the desk. Her flip flops hanging from her feet slightly. "I've been trying very hard but somehow manage to keep getting poor grades. Is there any way there would be some sort of extra credit? I really need to pass this class or I'm going to have to repeat it at summer school." She explained.

Her brown bangs fell over her eyes a little bit so she pushed them out of the way, something she usually did. She hoped her teacher could help her because she really wanted to avoid spending her summer at summer school just for one class that was never even going to help her in life.

Erika was her name, but other than that Seth didn't know a lot about her. She was fairly quiet, and seemed like she had it in her to be a good student, but thus far had shown that math wasn't her strong suit. On that, he couldn't blame her. His brows rose as her voice trailed off, and he watched her sit on the edge of his desk, his eyes glancing only momentarily at her legs before quickly making their way back to her face.

He nodded at her question, frowning to himself as he leaned forward and flipped open the calendar book he kept on his desk, his finger brushing through the weekend ahead to see what he had planned. To his complete lack of surprise, it was empty. Nodding again, he leaned back in his chair and looked up at her.

"If you're free tomorrow, I can put some stuff together for you to work on. Say... 10:30? I'm sure you like to sleep in a little on the weekend," he finished, a hint of a grin playing on his lips.

Although she had been hoping to do some extra credit after class, as she liked having the weekends to herself, she smiled. She tucked a loose strand of brown hair behind her ear and her black rimmed glasses fell down a little so she picked them up. She hated this math class and everyone in it. She couldn't wait for school to be out for the summer. Her teacher was nice and all but math wasn't her strongest suit. She hoped tomorrow's extra credit would be enough for her to at least get a semi-decent grade.

"Thank you Mr. Jones. I really do appreciate your help." She said with a soft smile. She was a happy girl for the most part. She just couldn't stand high school. The girls were sluts, the boys were pricks and she didn't fit in anywhere with those two. She was a pretty girl but she wasn't about to flaunt it for any jock on the football team. "So 10:30? Should we meet here at the school?" She asked, not sure if they would do their extra credit at the school or his home.
