There might be an intersection between a relationship and a mentorship, but in my (very rarely humble) opinion it is not very useful to mix these and treat them as the same.

A relationship is about what works for the relationship, that is, about things that are specific for two individuals with their very unique traits and quirks and opinions. What might be right for these two individuals living together, might be completely wrong from a D/s point of view - and vice versa. I mean, if you would want sex education, you would agree for sure that it makes a huge difference whether this comes from a steady boyfriend, a catholic priest or Ducky DooLittle.

If you really want to _learn_, one of the better steps would be to join us over in the BDSM forums, instead of jumping into a relationship and betting on the off-chance that you will learn more than how to please a specific guy.
