good beers from all over the world

BUDVAR, (The ORIGINAL Budweiser) from Czechoslovakia is my absolute favorite! It's a lovely Helles style beer similiar to those found in Bavaria, which is no surprise as it comes from what used to be the German Sudenten. Since the Iron Curtain came down this beer has been sweeping international beer competitions.

AUGUSTSTEINERBRAU An exceptionally fine Helles from Munich.

OLD PECULIAR A wonderful brown ale from...(Yorkshire, England, I think)

HUMPBACK ALE (Thar She Blows) Brewed in St. Paul, Minnesota.

SINGHAH From Thailand (Be careful of this one, the alcohol content is somewhere between 10 and 12 percent)

SLO AMBER ALE from San Luis Obispo, California

Oh...almost forgot...There is a really good Amber brewed in New Hampshire called Wildcat...I think (been awhile).

thanks gil

thanks gil, thats a neat list.

i tried to organize all the previous suggestions into a single list that made sense but theres just too much stuff.

i hope someone can volunteer for the job later, maybe put it into a table or something, countrywise.

Thanks anyway for your contribs, i have become beerwiser myself ... :)

For My PM Byng

<big hugs back darling> ... thought you'd get a kick out of this ... :)

After the North American Beer Festival, all the brewery presidents decided to go out for a beer.

The guy from Corona sits down and says, "Hey Senor, I would like the world's best beer, a Corona." The bartender dusts off a bottle from the shelf and gives it to him.

The guy from Budweiser says "I'd like the best beer in the world, give me 'The king of Beers', a Budweiser."
The bartender gives him one.

The guy from Coors says, " I'd like the only beer made with Rocky Mountain spring water, give me a Coors".
He gets it.

The guy from Molson sits down and says, "Give me a Coke". The bartender is a little taken aback, but gives him what he ordered.

The other brewery presidents look over at him and ask,
"Why aren't you drinking a Molson?"

The Molson president replies, "Well, I figured if you guys aren't drinking beer neither would I.

I am Canadian.

US mass market - Bud
US micro brew - Long Trail Ale
Canada - Molsen Canadian
Europe - St. Pauli Girl
Asia (Korea) - OB

Ok,

Though I'm a college student I don't drink American beers other than Yuengling Lager. My favorite German beer, after Fanzikaner is a good Paulaner Heffeweisse. Perhaps Warsteiner, another German beer says it best in their ads...."Life is too shor to drink cheap beer"

my most recent fav is Optimator Spaten from Munich. I started drinking beer when I lived in Germany in the 80's and I can't find anything finer than the local beers I had access to there.
