Good lesbian reads

I am currently writing my first lesbian scene, I need to do a bit of research into what women reading lesbian fiction really want to read.
I am very aware that whatever I write is just male fantasy.
Can anyone recommend any good lesbian stories written by women for women with some explicit scenes.

From what I understand, it's essentially the Romance tropes that are popular: meeting, infatuation, breakup, reconciliation/tragic separation. I also gather that several of the top stories in the Lesbian Hall of Fame are very popular among the female readers and writers.

I've been reliably informed that a lesbian sex scene isn't what lesbians want to read, even if it's angsty and empowering.

You could also solicit women as beta readers.

But in terms of LFS, why not find lesbian stories (via tags) that are highly ranked and seem to have a female-sounding author, and then emulate the elements that you feel are best?

I suspect that really it's just a matter of being more erotic, teasing, slow-burn, etc. (plenty of men will also appreciate that).
