greeneyeredhead's friendly pics

your favorite?

Ok ... sort of a different sort of topic here but .... i used to have this periodic table of the elements in my dorm room at school ... hung it above my bunk bed ... lured my dates up there and asked them

What is your favorite element of the periodic table ... and why?

My answer was Mercury.
Becuase it is liquid metal at room temperature, its pretty, i like the way it moves, and ... it is poisonous

i know this makes me unbelieveably goofy but ... would love to hear back what is your favorite element ? and why?

Enough response may inspire me to start posting pics of me again *wink*

Here is a pic of the JF Hyde Periodic Table that i had in my dorm room ....

Selenium. It's rare, it's toxic, and it's useful for photography. What more does an element need than that? Well, I guess it would be nice if it were also an aphrodisiac, but one can't always have everything.

By the way, a certain Frenchman has been complaining that he hasn't heard from you.

Charles my dearest ... how very appropriate that yours is the first response *smiles adoringly at you*

Please send Potage my fondest regards ... did he ever find the Garoovi diamond? Did he ever find a cure for terminal acne? ... i miss those days ...

Don't know that I have a favorite or claim that I know very much about most of them but I will choose Copper. I'm usually touching it most every day, I like to touch. It's mallable ie: capable of being readily persuaded or influenced I like things like that, it conducts heat and electricity well (don't think I have to say anything here) , and turns such a pretty green when it's loosing it's electrons. Green of course is one of my favorite colors.

Can't help but wonder what was going through your dates heads when you showed them the table. I doubt they envisioned that question when looking at your bed. :D

copper ...

*Grinning huge at the Bastard*

Easily the sexiest description of copper that ive ever heard ... and i can definitely see where you are coming from ... i wont look at my wiring the same again ...

I've always said that i was mis-wired somewhere along the way ... care to perform an inspection? *giggle*

And yes, it was a little tricky of me to ask such a question ... most didnt have a favorite before having the question put to them ... but it was one way to see if my date had an imagination and was a fast thinker ...

... and was good to let it be known right off the bat that i can be a bit tricky ...

favourite element

This is such a hard question . . . so many different reasons to make a choice.

I think I'll go for silicon, without which we wouldn't be having this discussion here at all.

Silicon ... hmmm

Well ... im sure that silicon has contributed to many of the images on the site ... and the silicon chips in our computers certainly make this discussion possible :) ... but just for clarity ... there is no silicon in the _content_ of the photos i have posted here on my thread *grin*

I know your 100% carbon based, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. I'm not a fan of silicone, I was thinking more of the chips . . .

Pulls out my "tester" and plugs in in slot "A". hmmm no bad readings. Pulls it out and pushes it in farther.....MMmmMM

I'm happy to announce you seem to have the right "stuff". I should know as a master in my field.

Tricky is a bit of an understatment don't you think?

RickyRooster, That picture was my top pic also. Just something about the tounge and the little mouth like she found the shot to be just as delicious.

i did some huntin greeny

i have come to the conclusion of lithium being of most interest to me, for its properties when mixed with carbon, it magically balances a lot of people into a sane life, although this topic is not sexy and arousing as i type it.

the lithium is good stuff and it really allows many people a better life. we all know somebody who has bi-polar disorder, if they are healthy they are taking lithium

also sodium is awesome for me, being a chef i love kosher salt, yep i said it, i love it and it rocks, no punn intended
i love chlorine also, bleach is magical stuff too........
i have rediscovered my love for science class greeneyed, but there are some elements not on the table that rock like earth, wind, and fire!
i cant wait to see you again!

test me again .. and again ... and again

Funnily I think Pu - Plutonium would be my favourite just because of a movie I seen once where the pronounciation of the word was the but of a joke, so I think that is my fav.

Huggs Marvin and kisses too ... wonderful to hear your choice ...

I love the fact that you thought about it and thought about what it means to people's lives and happiness ... that shows compassion and caring and intelligence ... all of which are sexy :p

And you are a chef as well??!! ... well there's nothing sexier than a man who can cook ... *licks lips* ... i get hungry just thinking about it ...

I was wondering how long it would be till we heard from Carbon ... *smiles*

It was the second most popular choice during my "informal survey" during college ...

Hmmmm Element .....

Hydrogen

It's Colorless, Odorless and if enough is used in a confined space it could make you high ( Lighter than air ) and it is explosive.

Just my two cents.....

Favorite element

That would definitly be Germanium. When pressure is applied this little pieziolectric crystlal produces electricity for my BBQ to light AND, it is also used to measure temperature (wink wink).

Feeling warm yet?

I don't want to be nerdy but are you sure germanium is used in spark ignitors? I thought it was likely to be quartz, or a a piezo-ceramic.

Thanks for the hugs greenie. Maybe it's just the college crowd leans more toward the "obvious" answer than being creative.
Happy Thursday to you!
