Gundam RPG ideas

True, but we're had, Gundam, 08th MS Team, 0080, 0083(Stardust memories) Zeta(not aired on TV), Char's Counter Attack, F91, G-Savior(For what it's worth it was good) G Gundam, Wing, SEED/Destiny & Gundam 00

Only Gundam animes not aired or dubbed are Victory, ZZ , Stargazer & the Zeta moives, Also the SEED Astray OVAs

And ok we will set it in the wing time line, as for story well.... Anyone got any ideas?

Well in wing, gundam refers to a metal alloy. It is both significantly stronger and lighter then conventional armor but neo-titanium runs a decent second.

So my suggestion would be to start some where along the lines of resources. An astroid or part of earth or part of mars is found to have a staggering amount of a rare metal used in making neo-titanium and refining gundamium alloy.

From there is a matter of one group controling it leading to problems with another. For example it could be an astroid close to Mars that earth owns, or perhaps simpler its on the moon and earth takes ownership and the people living on the moon ask "Why don't we get a cut of it?"

Depending on how far after wing this is the power groups that imedatly come to my mind are the colonies, unified earth sphere, lunar colonies or Mars colonies.

Well, judging from what you've put in the revised first post, amchentai, it looks like you've already got something in mind.

We could go with what I call "The Joker Reason," which is based off of the latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight. "The Joker Reason" is that you don't need a reason to fight or create chaos, you just do it for the hell of it.

Basically, for this story, you have one faction that has no real reason to start a war. They just start the war because they want to.

Cats: Yeah that would work.
Gundanium alloy, From what I remember it was or rather needed to be made in space, something to do with being refined in 0G or something.
As for the neo-titanium alloy it was something OZ tried to use to counter the Gundams, but it was developed so late in the war it never saw action outside of the Serpent units.

Jedi:
True, but the back story I put up is more of a all Gundam time lines lol =D
Doesn't work for a pure Wing AC time frame ^^

To everyone:
I'll work on a story, I'm sure I can cook up something...
Might take a bit but I'll work on it =D

As for the jocker reason, that actully is very much a theme in gundam wing, and endless waltz. Humanity has a destiny of combat and can not escape it, (unless you change the hearts and minds of every one.)

EW suggests the fallowing format War, peace and, revolution. Which means coming out of peace we'd need a revolution, so some one would have to be burdened by the current state of affairs.

Sorry for the delays ><I ended up getting sick X_X
If you want to like get characters ready go ahead =D

It would help immensely if you provided some background on the story first.

I am tempted to call dibs on the villain.

I'm feeling a bit better, and sorry.
I'd rather all start on the same side, I'm not as found on PVP some of the past RPs I've been part of were meh because of that, too much work X_X and people getting mad at each other ><

Umm...translation please?

I don't like PVP(Player VS Player)
So I rather like RPGs were the players are all on the same side.
This isn't to say you can't have a rival or some sort, just it would do more with your good guy character development.

Also the basic outline for the RP is up on page 1

Yeah, I got that idea, but there was just a little problem with a run-on sentence and interruptions from "smileys" that made it hard to understand what it was you said.

Understood no villain for me. But do keep in mind that means you are obligated to write a good villain for the rest of us to battle.

So what is the basic idea for the good guys here? Do they work for the preventers, are they independent agents, are they all from colonies or perhaps earth?

I'm not totally against it, but just PM me before you'd do anything like that.
And good guys should be Preventers, although if your back story calls for something else, you can =D

So along this line of questions can you give us more preventer back story? Is TallGeese three literally the only machine they have?

I am out of the villian business for the moment.

My initial idea is for a young scientist that built his/her machine for the preventer, probably with limited funds. He/She may also of helped design other machines. Along these lines each machine would have to have a niche it was designed for: stealth, ranged, melee, maneuverability, etc. Thus each machine could be justified with limited funding and most importantly not eclipse the Tallgeese III which while out dated still has more firepower and great speed and melee abilities.

Preventer MS are the following:

Tallgeese 3
Noin's White Taurus
Wing Gundam
Serpent x6

As for story, we're ready, I want it open ended so players can start out however they want, But like Cats has said, any MS built after EW will not be very good, any custom MS will be weak for the most part, other then the bad guys.
Upgrades will happen soon after the war kicks into full gear(first few posts)
So no worries about waiting long

And for someone who isn't a total Gundam fan...what does this all mean?

"Preventer"? You guys are throwing it around like it was a proper noun, i.e. the name of an organization, but I'm thinking it's not. So, is it or isn't it?

It is a proper noun, specifically the name of an organization. The Preventeers are tasked with the job of preventing war. The organization is in Endless Waltz and was headed up by Lady Un. Most of the main characters who survived gundam wing ended up in it, Sally Poe and Lt. Noin for example. At the end of the movie Noin leaves with Zeeches and Wufie joins.

Tallgeese was the original mobile suite and despite being older a better design then most later models. It was very large and relied on high speed and mobility to get the job done.

Tallgeese III was made my Treize for humanities "last battle" at the end of the series but wasn't finished in time to be used in the main gundam series. It has Superior weapons to the Tallgeese. A shield mounted whip and an over the top energy cannon capable of blowing up smaller colonies being the main to upgrades. It also has improvements in durability and communications.

Noin's White Taurus, this machine converts into a spaceship for better air and space speeds. It has an energy cannon and a great deal of maneuverability.

Wing Gundam: I assume it was repaired after Lady Un used it in the end of gundam wing. It was Heero Uyi's original gundam at the start of the series. It has a 3 shot buster riffle that packs a punch and is a balanced machine for air combat.

Serpent suit: Made from neo titanium these things can take hits. They have shoulders that open into rocket launchers and double gatling gun hand held weapons. There only weakness seems to be the lack of melee weapons. Kind of a small version of heavy arms.

Any other questions?

So where are we story wise? what do we need to start?

I take it you haven't seen much Gundam then?

Small adds for the MS Cats listed.

Tallgeese III also has a pair of Beam sabers for Close combat as well.

The Taurus has a Beam rifle & a High powered Beam cannon, the Beam cannon can't be used on earth or it over heats =(

Wing Gundam has a pair of shoulder mounted machine cannons, as well as a beam saber.

Serpents also have hand carried Beam cannons and Bazookas.

What I know about Gundam...bunch of young kids fighting in large robots..**** to be sure.

Exactly jagged.

As for the hand held weapons. The suits usually only carry one.

Wing has two beam sabers, mind you it only ever uses one at a time.

True, but this doesn't mean we can't use both weapons =)

So are you going to post a character format and the IC thread? Not to mention have a plot.
