I wonder if that'll get me out of the family shindig...:D

(The fireworks won't even start for another 4-5 hours here. Sun's still bright as ever. )

I know nothing of Scandinavian, but in many countries the date would simply be written as 5th instead of 5:th.

I kinda like 5:th, though :D

The use of a colon to separate a root word (numbers and acronyms, usually) from a suffix. I have only seen Swedes and Finns doing it. :)

As in 'YTV:lle annettaissiin' and stuff. I think it's cute. :D

PS: Hi, Min

Only when it comes to dem numbers. And since y'all think it's cute, I'll keep doing it.

Fine suggestion, Ogg. It would be good to have a head of state who really did speak the Queen's English. ;)

p.s. Happy Birthday to Remec :rose: [/B]

Yes, but then there's Charles.

Remember that awful phone call to Camilla, where he got all romantic and said he wished he could be her, um, female hygeine product?

That's not that big a step up from Billy Carter.

Thanks for this P. I fear that the masses this sort of message should reach are not libral enough to browse Lit.

Are you serious?

:D

You'd be surprised how many neocons like a little porn with their Hannity.

True story: when the movie, "The Madness of King George II" was released in the U.S., the distributors dropped the II. They were afraid we'd think it was a sequel.
