Hard to read high multi chaptered stories

330,000 words into the story and I am going to be sad when its over. I do have the ending worked out, its just a matter of getting there without rushing.

I'm at about 175,000 words with 10-12 chapters to go, and I felt like I was pushing my luck, so thank you for the validation. :D

When I'm writing, I don't count the words, pages ,etc. I like to let my stories flow and see where it goes, usually I'm just gently guiding it, but I let my characters and situations flow.

It's entirely possible to write a tight, interesting, erotic story in under a thousand words... and to imply that these are of any less worth than the interminable, yawn-ridden epics which grace some of Lit's archive is just plain wrong.

I could use a stronger word.

Oh, goodness, no! We weren't implying that at ALL! All we were saying was that WE can't write shorter erotic stories - not that shorter erotic stories are somehow less worthy than longer works. We read both long and short stories and love them both.

I did not get the impression that they were implying anything negative about shorter stories, which I said that they enjoy reading.

Perhaps you missed that the posters name is wayne AND ann triskelion. Perhaps you mistook their use of "we" to imply something broader than what they meant by it.

I hope you were not spoiling for a fight. It seems imprudent to me to get into an argument with someone who just stated that they can't stop writing at less than 50,000 words.

Thank you, MelissaBaby, you are precisely correct - we were talking about our inability to write shorter works, not making a comment about longer works being better in some way than shorter. Of the two formats, I have to say it takes much greater skill to write in the short format.
