That a bunch of Catholic priests are going to form a NAMBLA chapter and participate in the next Gay Pride parade in San Francisco?

I hadn't heard the specifics about which parade they had settled on, but I say let them unfurl their freak flag with pride!

No, but I've heard that Vladimir Putin is just about ready to flip and give the Mueller team full cooperation.

That is interesting. I think you should start a separate thread about that I think that would generate a lot of interest.

Ah, I see, the classic, homophobic, and stale behavior of indirectly linking homosexuality to pedophilia.

You aren't slick.

Why are all rightist males so immature and daft? I'm dead serious, none of these rethugs have any redeemable qualities on here. Rightism is a mental illness.

Stop pulling a Dizzybooby and post legit links.

What puzzles me most about this story is how rapidly it disappeared or just continues to barely simmer below the surface. There is rock-solid proof that hundreds of priests had relationships with boys and that the Catholic Church is rife with homosexual priests who preyed on these "pretty" youngsters, as one commentator referred to the victims.
I guess the media doesn't like the idea of gay men as predators.

Reckon this might be another one of Ol' Journey's "satire" bricked baskets.

To be fair, on the plus side of the ledger, he is castigating clergy of a rabidly anti-abortion sect of Christianity. That's got to earn him some cred, no?

But you know different, dont'cha? I can see the rusty gears turning in your gourd, Journey. You can't fool me. You wanna make this a thing. You wanna make it happen.

You used to be a journalist, shouldn't you be writing in some letters to the editor or calling in some old superhero journalist friends for some vigilante action-time exposin' or something? Like the Avengers, but only a lot less financed and with worse breath? :D

I don't know if this satire or not. I do know there are many pederasts in the priesthood, but I have doubts that they would be so open about it as to march in a parade. BTW, it's not usually called "the Gay Pride Parade" anymore.

But it was a thing for the longest time, Zumi.
As far as it goes, I could really care less. There is reporting that the Pope helped cover for a really, really slimy priest a few decades back in South America, a story that was covered fairly extensively in Argentina and Spain, I've heard. Now that's the kind of thing that I think might be of interest to readers.
I'm a Christian but not a Catholic, but my wife raised my children as Catholic and I generally admire the religion. But that's immaterial.
As a news non-professional, Zumi, wouldn't you think this latest round of news which implicates a bishop (or maybe two or three, I admit I haven't really paid all that much attention) and possibly the pope might deserve more ink?

Huh.

Suddenly two yuuuge fans of correlation suddenly don't see any connection at all with a pretty big, consistent data set.

I don't necessarily share your perception that this is being under-reported since I have read some things about it although like you I haven't really sought it out.

For a lot of reasons the Catholic church is not on the protected classes list with a lot of the journalist intelligentsia. They were not supportive of gay marriage and they are obviously anti-abortion- probably the most organized group that is fairly consistently anti-abortion.

I think there's a lack of interest among journalists just because it's more of the dog bite man version of this story than the man bites dog. The predilections of Catholic priest has become something of a punchline and Hance not particularly newsworthy.

It's getting ink. But it moves in a direction that is taboo at Literotica and gets posters banned, which is likely why you haven't seen it discussed much here.

Meanwhile, how about helping to jazz up the rumor that Vladimir Putin is about to flip on Donald Trump?

I wonder what the correlation is between homosexuals and heterosexuals on being global warming alarmists?

There is a religious aspect to it. The Pope has made some statements supporting the Church of Climatology. Has anyone polled priests to see how they feel about it?

Well, I'm in media and I agree that this would deserve more ink if the world was properly balanced, but hey...look at the state of the society we're in right now. With all the allowed venality going on by those we call our "leaders," fat chance of that ever happening, my dude!

Also this sitch smacks more of a Church-flavored predator thing rather than a "gay" predator thing. Maybe (our) media doesn't want to touch those forever sacred cows lest some good ol' fashioned smiting comes 'round the neighborhood, yey?

That is a cogent argument. It is troublesome the number of stories of predation that goes on in the name of religion of all stripes. Seems most common in very fundamentalist sects.

My view on Church predation is that the flock of sheep attracts wolves. The more fundamentalist the flock the easier the prey.

I don't agree that the Press has any compunction whatsoever about giving us the salacious details on any such stories that they run across and near as I can tell if they get wind of it it's going to be printed regardless of which sect. Some of the traditions and cultures of islamists that do not drive with current modern-day America but would have been perfectly at home in 19th century America are not reported on. But pretty much everything else hits the Press if they find out about it.

It does seem very consistent though that Catholic Church predation specifically leans towards a gay orientation of the predator. It may well be that the high incidence of those reports has overwhelmed any reporting that might have happened about some hetero sexual predation which surely must go on in the Catholic church as well but according to my flock and Predator Theory the Catholic church seems to attract gay predators.

You presented that is an either-or as a gay predator or a church predator and there's no reason that a predator can't be both.

Sorry.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The California Diocese of the Catholic Church announced Thursday that it will have a St. PatRICKS float in the next Gay Pride parade to officially recognize an affiliation with NAMBLA.
"It's been established that we've been polishing peters, and I don't mean statues, for years," Fr. Bruce Lispinsky told the AP. "This sort of formalizes the whole thing."
Lispinsky said the working title for the float was simply, "Oh Boy."
