Havin a proud momma moment...

Okay so it's not a " How to" really but I just felt like crowing over my oldest daughter Liz just a bit.
We got a letter from her school earlier this week letting us know that she has been offered admission into TIP. TIP is Duke University's Talent Identification Program which identifies and offers assistance to and enrichment for academically gifted young people.
Liz was offered admission because she scored in the 95th percentile nationwide on a comprehensive test of basic skills and she recieved a great plaque and medallion in recognition for her above average test scores. Her school has also identified her an academically gifted child and are encouraging us to persue admission into one of the private schools her locally that is better geared to challenge her academically.

My baby is a frickin genius!!!

Congratulations. It's so much fun when your children shine.

If your daughter keeps this up, I want to warn you that you may need a larger mailbox some day. When she approaches the middle of her high school years she will start getting promotional materials from colleges because her name will appear near the top of one or more widely taken standardized tests. And these promotional letters, brochures, and post cards never stop. Been there and still have the broken mailbox to prove it.

she's 9 going on 90...lol! That child is an old soul.

TY to all of you, I'm very, very proud of her! Not just for this, but for alot of things in general. She's one amazing little girl, beautiful and intelligent with a great heart. I'm thankful every day that I've been blessed to be allowed to be her momma. She makes me crazy some days but...well the parents out there know what I mean.
