oh yeah, i forgot grape nuts

i LOVED grape nuts

It's so hard to figure out *WHY* I like them...

I try to explain them to other people:

"Well, they're sort of like eating gravel. Until they get mushy and then they're just gross. I LOVE THEM!!"

they are good in the summer with mile, or heated up with milk in the winter so its warm and cozy

LOL My favorite cereals are cheerios and rice chex. My kids and I fight constnatly about cereal, cause they want chocolate cereal. My kids are NOT getting desert for breakfast. I occasionaly will buy cavity crunchy's, but it's desert, they don't get ANY until after dinner.

Thanks to daddy I'm a Wheaties girl. However, since I'm such a chocoholic, during Halloween, when it comes out, I do revert back to my childhood fav...Count Chocula:D

I love this thread!

In the states, I'll eat either Cheerios or steel-cut oatmeal for breakfast. With M_Wisdom, I like to have fruit (Fruct) Muesli. I'm not particularly fond of rolled oats any more.

Tabea, I think we're thinking about the same muesli -- M_Wisdom introduced me to the brands called Axa(?) and Finax.
yay, thank you!

I love fruit. Cheerios seem to make the milk too sweet for me and they get soggy too fast. I like them dry, by the handful. :)

Grape nuts = another big favorite of mine..... :)

I lOVE that it takes a long soaking before they get soggy... I hate when cereal gets a case of the soggies. yuck.

We lean either way. Either too strict or spoiling them.
We 've let our kids have dessert for breakfast, more than once: chocolate chip cookies and milk.... or chocolate cake.. no worse than a jelly donut, we figure [though I know how bad jelly donuts are too].
We try to keep a balance between being good or being very good at being very bad. :D

i'll bet You're the type that slurps up all the marshmellows to leave the other stuff for somebody else.
I don't know about and can't speak for them.... but

I have told others before: Upon being an adult living alone for the first time in my late teens [umm.. about a decade ago.. ]..... i realized one day that i could do any of those things i wanted to do as a kid that my mother had told me for years not to do.

I then went directly into my kitchen cupboard of my first ever apartment.....
took out a box of Lucky Charms.....
ate every marshmello in the box....
tossed the rest into the trash.

Just because I CAN. :D

Wait...you're telling me I'm supposed to eat the non-marshmallow filler in the box??

Pretty pictures..... I wish they would bag the freeze dried marshmellos by the pound. I'd buy bags of just the marshmellos and eat them by the handful...... all at once.. stuff them in.. jammed tight......... YUM.
I vote you as next CEO of General Mills!! :D

That sounds so good! Well except for the honey.
And the hazelnuts.
And I'm not sure about the yoghurt
:D But the rest sounds GREAT!
It has the V factor. Like trying to explain why Vegemite is so sooo soooo good.

It's like black , made of yeast & vegetables , salty, tangy, smells a bit like Vitamin B tablets and it's yum on toast.

I have given up on trying to convert on that one over the years.

It does sound kind of disgusting when described.

I still adore Bircher Muesli though, just don't have it very often.

Hmmm favorites are Cap'n Crunch.. just plain Cap'n Crunch.. that's or Fruit Loops are comfort foods for me. Other than that.. Plain ole cheerios with a bit of sugar sprinkled on

jingles.. crazy for cocoa puffs.. magically delicious.. they arent really "stuck there".. I can't even recall most of them
