yeah i was kinda sceptical on the whole rubber band thing as well, an adjustable one sounds good. as for the not useing for long period of time thing, of course i would take it off it it starts to hurt, i also make sure that it just limits the flow of blood out and not cut off the flow completely.SweetErika said:It depends on your preferences in terms of material (latex, silicone, plastic, leather, steel, etc.), appearance, size, and ease of use (we find one that can be tightened/loosened easiest and most comfortable). I wouldn't opt for a rubber band, as most cock rings are cheap, and that might be painful because it's so thin and sticks to skin easily.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but keep in mind cockrings aren't supposed to be worn for more than 20 minutes at a time, and usually don't keep an erection for too long after ejaculation. If you're planning on using it during a long session, you might want to consider getting the adjustable type that's easy to loosen sufficiently to give your cock a breather every 20 minutes or so.
We have, and like, one like this:

The stretchy band types are mostly designed to just go around the penis. This is primarily there to delay ejaculation. Other types are designed to go over the base of the penis on top and then under your balls. This stops blood from flowing out of the penis but let's blood flow in. The purpose here it to give a fuller erection and last longer.
The few times I've used one I've certainly worn it more than 20 minutes. I've always used the later kind, that goes over and under the scrotum. While there may be a little increase in "fullness", the main benefit I found was recovery time. You have to be careful though not to get it too tight, because you want to keep circulation going. Slow blood flowing out, not stop it completely.
I've used the kind like Erika showed, and while it functions well, I found it uncomfortable. I've gone to what is basically a loop of surgical tubing with a bead on the bottom. It holds tight, is easy to release, and most importantly it is thicker so it's more comfortable. No more "ring around the penis" when I'm done.
The only real benefit I've seen from using one is that there is a bit of an increase in sensitivity because of the added blood in the penis. I would say wearing one for more than 20 minutes is probably ok, but i wouldn't go too much past that and certainly wouldn't try using one all the time. As for picking one, you just need to try them out. They are all pretty cheap, so get a couple types and experiment. The only thing I will say is stay away from metal cock rings. When you swell they can and do get stuck and won't release your erection. In our little town my buddy who worked in the ER has run into this twice in 3 years. Nothin like seeing soemone pulling out the ring cutter and comingn at you johnson.![]()
