Help remembering a story I loved

I want to say about a year ago i had found this absolutely beautifully written story. It wasn't new to the site, in fact im sure it had been on here a number of years. I loved this story but i just cant remember the name and would really love to find it again. It was a long, multi page, multi part story about two childhood friends and they were in high school. I cant remember too much. They were best friends and at some point something happened to where they kind of separated from their friendship for a bit. Honestly the most defining part of the story i can remember was they ended up settling whatever it was, both weren't dating anyone anymore, and they ended up going to prom together which was at there School. And a freak natural disaster, which was a tornado if i remember correctly, caused the roof to collapse killing off their entire graduating class and they ended up trapped in a classroom under a desk or table and were trapped under it for days. Finally one of thier dads, cant remember which family it was, brought the family dog to the school and was able to fi d them. A large part of the story had been a flashback explaining the friendship, the events leading up to them fighting, and finally getting to the point where one of them asked the other to prom. Id really like to find this story again but ive never been able to find it.

Yeah i think that might have been it. My memory sometimes is shit when it comes to remembering but yeah i do think that was the one. If i remember right the place was near a lake or something and the high winds and weight of the ice on the roof caused the entire roof to collapse killing all but the two

It might have been mine, called 'Heath and Cathy get the wind' .

In the later chapters Heath and Cathy, suffering from dehydration, stalked each other through the burning remains of the building with claw hammers, some people got in the way, it got messy.

No that wasn't it but i might check your story out. The two ended up being saved by rescue workers and ended up on some tv talk show talking about the whole thing.

sounds like mine, but the rescue workers had to be rescued in mine, well the ones who survided did. the shoot out was very moving, kids with cross bows against claw hammers, medics nailed to walls, all very moving.

the talk show was set in a secure location though.

The one im trying to find was not at all graphic like that but that does sound like a really interesting story. Im going to have to check it out when i have the chance

Did anyone ever find this? I've been looking for this forever. I know at one point the girl in the story gets kidnapped and she kills the guy who kidnapped her. I think she also goes to Auburn university at one point.
