Ember bit her lip curling closer to Makzim for now her eyes glancing only briefly in pure fear of Tarence seeing his eyes on her she quickly moved a little more behind Makzim.

Stephen moved behind Ember and pinned her body against Makzim hopeing it would make her feel bettter.

Stephen noticed that after meeting Chai who he smiled at Ember almost seemed happy to get away from Tarence and stay chatting with Chai.

Ember was terrified to be in cuba near Tarence and with how he looked at her this time it was no different. How could he agree to do such things to her when he had Chai... SHe knew of her but had never really spent much time around her. Most times it was arrive and Tarence dragging her off while Makzim went out on the town to celebrate leaving the country unhalted.

Stephen had walked round to below the pattio as he looked out at the garden. He couldn't hear what Chai and Ember were talking about but he was there to protect Ember.

So he stayed watching looking out over the lake.

They continued to talk and food was delivered. Ember called to him at Chai's urging.

Stephen... There is food here if you want any.

Stephen came up and took some food.

"Thank you so much."

He walked over to the side so he was just out of ear shot as he began to eat it looking out over the manor's back garden.

 

[Asa]

Chai nodded to him as Ember watched him biting her lip. This place brought out so much fear in her and it was written all over her face.

Stephen excuses himself to move away so Ember can relax. He heads down into the garden holding the plate of food as he eats it.

 

[Asa]

Ember shook her head no and whispered. This place... not you...

Stephen nodded understanding what Ember meant. He would protect her tho. She was safe. He watched the two women as he eat.

 

[Asa]

Ember winced at all the guard movement untill Chai called one over.

Juan... I do not care what Tarence orders are for now... you and your men are scaring one of our guests... you will STOP is that clear. She appears to have her own guard... ask him assist you or one of the guards to keep us safe and the rest of you Get lost. Tarence has a problem with it tell him to talk to me about it.

The guard nodded at chai and ordered the men away as he went down and spoke to stephen. Some of the guards gave more outside cover to tarence while the rest headed to the basement to see the beating gabriel was getting.

Chai smiled to Ember as the guards backed off some.

Ember was surprised that they obeyed her so quickly... that must be the difference in wife and property.

There Ember they will back off now.

Chai and ember continued to eat and talk.

Stephen followed them as they went for their walk through the gardens. Stephen felt safer knowing he only had to protect ember from this one other guard who walked ahead of the group.

Stephen walked behind them they were a good distance so both guards wouldn't hear them talking.

Ember asked her a few questions and they talked about various things and Chai told her they would have a shopping day and have so many designers in here Taence would be begging them to go out to shop.

Stephen knew there would be a dinner tonight. Now he had a feeling he would be escorting both Ember and Chai round town tomorrow shopping.

Gabriel meanwhile had been locked in a room still tied to the chair for the rest of the evening.

Ember asked Chai about going horseback riding after shopping and Chai nodded.

I will leave word for Our stable man to prepare a couple of horses for us tomorrow.

The stable man was now a old guy in his 60's with grey hair swept over one side of his head. He smoked a cigar and wore brown shoes and pants with a white vest top on. As he tended to the horses.

 

[Asa]

When she saw the man walk over Chai looked confused to Tarence.

What happened to our other Stable man... Gage... Gabe... Gabriel?

Her fear grew visible but to any who knew the situation it would appear that she was scared of Gabriel or thats how they would read her at least

Tarence lookedd over at her thinking she was worried about Gabriel hurting her again.

"Not to worry. I took care of him. This is our new stable hand Perdo."

 

[Asa]

If she was confused or worried about Gabriel she hid it well as she bit her lip and nodded. Nice to meet you Pedro we will go riding say about 5 pm tomorrow before dinner... Thank you

Perdo nodded and left the room. As Stephen kept his eyes on Ember he thought he saw a flash of worry on Chai's face. But it was gone now.

Chai sighed and wondered now what was going to happen. With how strange Tarence was being would he do as she suspected and be loving and wish his wife with him tonight or go after the poor girl Makzim brought to gain favors.

Once the meal was over the guests could do as they wished however with it getting close to midnight Tarence asked his wife to join him in the bedroom. He wanted to make sure she was ok after Gabriel's attack on her today.

Everyone went their own ways for the evening. Chai remained close to her husband wanting to see just what was up and all of his care and tenderness.
