Stephen's first thought was to turn round and shoot Jacob as he had the advantage with his gun already in his hand. Then he could blow his own brains out the only reason he stopped was he looked over Jacob's shoulder and saw the dancer looking worried.
She didn't deserve to see that.
Stephen threw of Jacobs arm and walked back inside the club. He kept his head down as he heard the music. He stood near Makzim but not that close.
He didn't want to see how Ember had made him feel but he glanced up looking at her as she was staring at him. Tears were still coming down his face he turned away and went over to the bar.
Once her dance was done she moved to Makzims side as was her normal standing there she bit her lip feeling her own hurt from this thinking he had been so different but then to see what happened and not hearing any of it other than what the Asian dancer said.
Makzim wanted to see just how scared Ember would be of his latest guard and called Stephen back over. Her eyes immediately went to him and went wide. She began to take a step back from Makzim as she tensed drastically.
Perfect was all Makzim said for now before sending her back to get ready to dance again. and then walked over to Stephen. You deliver her to Tarence when we get there. If she fights ya or struggles against it give her this... Not sure what ya did but her being afraid of you is a good thing... now she won't try to manipulate you like she did the punk you took over for.
He held out a syringe in a case. Closing the case back he smirked.
That slime is going to owe me so many favors he will end up being OUR employee instead of business contact...
Stephen barely responded. He only just heard the words Makzim had said. He held the case in his hand.
As Makzim walked away and sat back down Stephen slipped away outside through the front door and out into the shadows.
He opened the case and threw the syringe against the wall. He was not Makzim. He couldn't even look at Ember. He slid down the wall sitting in the alleyway a street over.
If what Ember said was true they would never be able to catch Makzim. If Stephen did arrest him he would just get out and hunt him down.
Stephen thought should i save him the trouble remembering his weapon in his waistband.
Stephen walked in as he stood near Makzim. He was watching his bouncers thinking how he could shoot each one of them in the back of the head before they could move.
Stephen stood there for a while. he stopped his hand a couple of times reaching for his gun.
To put on a good show she acted terrified of both of them whimpering trying to get out of both of their grasps shaking her head no weakly.
Once Jacob let go of her she whimpered again as he suggested some stuff to Stephen that he had done to her before. Once he was gone she answered quietly.
What? She... But Mai never leaves here that I have ever seen...
Seeing the room they were in she recoiled into his embrace biting her lip she tried to bury her face in his chest to block out the room they were in. She did not want to believe that this was his intended location but there was no telling. First he was so kind... yet so cruel to Mai... yet protected her from Jacob... but came in here.
Which of his rooms do you want to use...
Words finally fell from her lips so hollow so robotic like the first time she spoke to him in his hotel room. She had pushed to where she was standing in front of him biting her lip.
She turned and on two different walls she opened up hidden doors to Makzims demented abusive hell for his favored girls. She looked to him it was clear she had endured her fair share of that mans as well as others demented desires in those rooms.
These chambers...
She sank deeper into that trapped hollow empty mannerisms and voice as when they were first together the night before.
Her eyes closed as she whimpered hearing the doors close she smiled softly as she pressed into the kiss her arms moving to hold him. Breaking the kiss she repeats only one word...
Safe...
Laying her head against his chest she hugged tight to him.
