Cassidy North
5'4", Auburn hair, blue eyes

"Your assignment, North."

There was no emotion in the voice, or the person, that handed Cassidy an envelope with her new assignment stats.

It wasn't like she was expecting any emotion, there hadn't been any before so why start now?

Without looking at the contents inside of the package, Cassidy only gave the man a nod and turned, before walking out of the abandoned warehouse. Since her last assignment was complete, her band account grew by two million. And that was just a small bounty. The bigger ones, of course, paid more and came with more danger. The color of the envelope in her hands indicated the threat of her next assignment.

It was red.

Red was never a good color.

As she got into the car that brought her here, the driver knew what to do next as he took her away from the meeting place. It was only when she finally had solice in the back of the limo to finally look at the contents.

"Shit." Was all she could say when she pulled out the picture of her next bounty.

Jeremy Irons
6'1"....170 lbs..... light brown hair ..... Blue eyes

Jeremy enlisted in the Army right out of high school. Eventually, he joined Special Forces. He planned on going to college, getting his degree, going to OCS and making a career out of the army. While going to school he met a beautiful woman. It was love at first sight. They were married several months later. Their time together was good until Jeremy got arrested.

He had gone out to a bar one night with a couple of his ray buddies. Some guys at the bar made some comments about the army and pointed in their direction. When the guys left, Jeremy followed them out of the bar. When he asked them about their comments, one of them grew a punch. It missed, but Jeremy didn't. He shattered the guys jaw. It came out hat Jeremy was the aggressor, and he was arrested for assault.

After his arrest, Jeremy was dishonorably discharged from the military, and he was thrown out of school. If that wasn't bad enough, his marriage went downhill. He found work as a mercenary. He travelled the world using the skills he had developed in the army. As a sniper he was very much in demand. There was only one problem, Jeremy skipped his court date for the assault. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest, and when he was stopped for speeding just outside of Seattle, Washington he was arrested on the warrant. He sat in a jail cell in some Podunk town wondering if he was going to be extradited for the warrant.

Cass was all business when she entered the small town sheriff's office. She got looks from the others in the office... they always seemed to look her up and down and made their judgement...under estimating her.

That was a majority of the men she met and their first thoughts.

Big mistake.

But as per usual, she ignored it. Better feed off their ignorance than try to change it.

She only had to present her ID to the sheriff, which wiped that smug smile off his face when he realized what organization Cassidy worked for. There were no arguments or questions. He just pointed in the direct of the cells and nodded to a deputy who had a key.

Processing didn't take long, a few signatures later and Cass was ready for her 'package.'

Deep down, she didn't know what was going to happen when she finally came face to face with Jeremy. Hopefully, he we would be on his best behavior.

Finally, he appeared, hands cuffed behind his back and Cass just held in a small smile. He could get out of those in no time, these cops didn't know he was holding back. But not Cassidy, she knew better...

"Let's go." She said as she grabbed his arm and led him out the door and to her awaiting vehicle, a 2013 Dodge Durango. No words were spoken as she put him in the backseat...but seriously, her mind was full of questions and her heart..well, her heart was fluttering with anticipation...

Jeremy was led out of the cell in handcuffs that had. No chance of restraining him for long. He just needed to find the right time and place to make his move. As they walked him out to the main area he saw Cassidy. His mind started racing. What was she doing here? Hey would not send someone from her organization for him for a bench warrant on an assault charge. It had to be something much more serious than that.

His escape would have to wait. He needed information. He needed to find out what this was all about. He went with her to her car. Hmmm, a new Durango. She must have been doing pretty well. He got into the back seat. He watched Cassidy get into the drivers seat. Damn, he looked as good as ever.

Not one word was spoken as Cass secured in her ex...no, not her ex, the prisoner.

Securing his cuffs to the bar along the back seat, making sure they were extra snug and then buckling his feet into the floor board, she stood and closed the door, managing to never make eye contact with him.

Locking the door, she got in on the driver's side and grabbed a clip board, wrote some information on it and then noted the time. Called in on phone, giving an ETA of 4 hours.

4 long hours. With a sigh, she started the vehicle and started off. Before she hit the main road, she blasted the volume on the radio, her favorite country music playing. Hopefully this would give the hint that she wasn't about to talk to him or even question why she was bringing him in.

Jeremy could tell that Cassidy was uncomfortable with this assignment. She would not make eye contact with him....heck, she did not even acknowledge his existence. Then, she blasted the radio. Surely, she didn't think that would deter him from gathering information, did she?

"Well, Cassidy, are we going to ride in silence the whole way? You haven't even said hello to me. That isn't very friendly." He raised his voice to make sure that she heard him above the music. He had a feeling that she thought conversation would make her vulnerable.

With a sigh, Cassidy lowered the volume and shook her head. Like it or not, she was going to have to deal with his sorry ass now or later. Might as well make it now.

"If anyone should know about not being friendly, it's you, right?" She retorted, keeping her eyes on the road.

It took a lot not say it with a lot of spite but she had managed. "You want to talk? Fine. Let's talk." She took a deep breath, "How's it going Jeremy? Finally got your ass caught for something so simple huh?"

Jeremy was happy to get her talking. Once she started, her disdain for him would keep Cassidy going. She would always try to get the last word and try to one-up him. He had to make sure that he kept her talking and he might get some information.

She mentioned being caught for something simple. Was it possible that she didn't know the real reason hey sent her. Nah, Cassidy was too smart for that.

"Come on Cassidy. Why do you have to be so cold? There is no reason for you to act like that toward e man you used to love. Lets be civil at least. Also, why did they send you to get me? They could have sent someone a lot less important for such a lowly charge."

Cassidy had to laugh. She shook her head and kept her eyes on the road, "Well, there's a few keywords in there... 'used to'.. as for lowly charge, I have my orders."

Since taking this job, Cass knew not to get involved with the reasons why she was bringing in someone. That wasn't any of her business. Just follow the orders given and everyone would be happy. She would get paid and they would trust her again for her next assignment.

Simple as that.

"Seriously Jeremy, keep quiet and this will go smoothly for the both of us."

He laughed out loud at her. "Go smoothly for both of us? At best, it can only go smoothly for one of us. My instincts tell me that it isn't going to go smoothly for either of us."

He let his words sink in for a second. "Come on Cassidy. You can't believe that they would be paying you your fee, and getting paid their fee for such a lowly charge. When did they ever take the case for a failure to appear? Nobody would go to your organization for something so simple. There is more to it than that, and they have involved you in it on purpose. You are in danger here, but you are blind to that fact."

God, the gull of this guy. What the hell did she ever see in him way back when?! She tried not to roll her eyes but instead, concentrated on her driving.

"You know Jeremy, trying to intimidate me is low, even for you. Again, you're making a situation bigger than it really is. Now, shut up and be quiet, OK?"

Of course, while talking to him and keeping her eyes on the road, she should've kept a watch out of her surroundings because she never noticed the truck behind her, following a little too closely until it was too late.

It rammed into the back of Cass' truck, causing her to jerk forward, "What the hell?!" She said as she tried to keep control of the vehicle...

He felt the collision from behind. He knew something was not right, but he didn't expect anything to happen this early in their trip. Jeremy looked around to see what was going on. He saw the truck that had hit them still following them closely. Jeremy looked around for others. There had to be more.

"Cassidy, you need to uncuff me. You can't handle this alone. Give me your cuff key and I will get free. Hopefully you have more in the way of weapons than the one you have on your hip."
