This is particularly important now, since polls indicate that 1 in 2 Jews in Germany no longer feel safe and consider leaving Europe.
It's a disgrace that it's happening again.
Especially since they contributed so much to Europe's culture and progress.

I had few interactions in real life, but I was always in awe of their culture and traditions.

As a child, I remember the old man that ran the candy store in my grandmother's neighborhood had a lot of numbers tattooed on his forearms. I asked him if he got in trouble with his mom for writing in ink on his arm. The reason I remember this clearly is because my mom got all upset with me for asking.

I brought a Jewish boy home for Thanksgiving during college. It was at my redneck brother's house, well, really more of a shack. His dad was a Cantor and they lived in a million dollar home in Chicago. I used a hand towel once in one of the 50 or so bathrooms and I thought his was going to have a conniption. I don't see the Holocaust and ww2 necessarily through the lens of race or White supremacy.
There have been plenty of atrocities committed in countries like Rwanda too, the thing that made Germany so effective was it's technological advancement.

Also: according to the docu, Nazis wiggled their way in during a tough time for lay Germans:
More than 1/3rd of German men aged 19-22 had died in WW1. Add to it the humiliation of the treaty of Versailles, which cut Germany by 13%, deprived it of any military power, and required it to pay heavy reparations for starting the war.
Then recession whipped life savings over night, Communism (some of their leaders being Jews) threatened Germans' livelihoods even further.

So it's easy to see, in a sense how lay people who are bitter, humiliated and empoverished end up turning a blind eye to their government's doings, or embracing an ideology that gives them dignity.
We shouldn't forget either, that the extermination programs in Germany started against their own (the sick or disabled, due to "lack of resources.")
