House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.)

hey, but some guy spoke ONCE to SOME group 12 yrs ago

YES, EVEN THE NAME OF THE “AFFORDABLE CARE ACT” WAS A CALCULATED LIE: Obama Adviser Jonathan Gruber In 2009: Obamacare Will NOT Be Affordable. “Gruber said that Obamacare had no cost controls in it and would not be affordable in an October 2009 policy brief, presented here exclusively by TheDC. At the time, Gruber had already personally counseled Obama in the Oval Office and served on Obama’s presidential transition team. Obama, meanwhile, told the American people that their premiums would go down dramatically.”

You can always tell when DizzyBooby is on the ropes when he starts multi-posting to threads when he's obviously being ignored.

Party over country always eh Dizzy? Don't bother answering, I stopped reading your bigoted drivel a couple of years ago.

Um, That Big Steve Scalise Story Probably Didn’t Happen, But He’s Still ‘Embattled’ Anyway

Never mind

Media to file corrections to the original story on, “Hey look it is a squirrel”.

Via Human Events

Hey, remember how the biggest story in every mainstream media outlet yesterday was the shattering revelation that House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) spoke to a group with ties to the odious white supremacist David Duke in 2002? Ancillary stories blossomed with lightning speed throughout the day, spreading across the front pages like fractal patterns blooming on a computer screen saver: the latest comments from Scaliese, reactions from other Republican leaders, calls for his doom from top Democrats, hard-hitting political analysis from veteran correspondents about whether the “embattled” Republican could possibly survive this devastating scandal…

Have you checked the big news websites today? Nothing. Yesterday’s top story is gone. CBS and NBC still have day-old posts about Scalise apologizing for delivering the brief 12-year-old address he barely remembers, but he’s vanished everywhere else.

There’s a good reason for that: it turns out the big story was, depending on how charitable you’re feeling, either dubiously sourced, a mistake, or an outright hoax. It fell to Betsy Woodruff at Slate to dig deeper and discover that on the fateful day, Scalise actually spoke to an innocent civic association, along with representatives from the local sheriff’s office and the American Red Cross. The unpleasant chaps from the Duke-linked “EURO” group had the room booked after the civic association was finished with it.

This is all based on the shifting recollections of a “longtime associate of David Duke” and neighbor of Steve Scalise named Kenny Knight, who is beginning to look like the unreliable single source for a too-good-to-check “scoop” the mainstream media’s “multiple layers of fact-checkers and editors” didn’t bother to investigate thoroughly before cudgeling an apologetic sound bite out of the Majority Whip. After investing considerable effort in reminding her readers how awful Knight, Duke, and this EURO crew are, Woodruff gets down to the details of that epic conference room rental at the Landmark Best Western in Metairie.

Well, you know how it is. When it comes to attacking a Republican or any kind of Conservative, the mainstream media and Lib. blogs, etc. can't be bothered with things such as accuracy or truth or anything like that.

Isn't Steve Scalise the guy with the photoshopped, fake birth certificate who spends two billion dollars a day touring India?

Tweet of the week: “Every Republican is Todd Akin, but no Democrat is Anthony Weiner, Ted Kennedy, Bob Filner, or Bill Clinton.”

http://moonbattery.com/obama-black-panthers-3.jpgToo bad the media isn’t hunting for Democrats who have attended black supremacist rallies. They could just choose any prominent Dem at random. For example, here is Barack Obama side by side with members of the New Black Panthers, who advocate killing whites:

Mainstream and Other Media: But he's a Democrat so that's alright.

BTW. David Duke was a Dem. until 1988.

The office of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) confirmed to The Washington Post Monday that he spoke at a white supremacist group’s event in 2002 while he served as a state representative.

The Louisiana political blog CenLamar initially published posts from Stormfront.com, a white supremacist message board, which mentioned Scalise speaking at an event for the European-American Unity and Rights Organization. That group was created by David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.

Scalise’s office told the Post in a statement, which was also later emailed to The Hill, that Scalise didn’t know about the group’s white-supremacist leanings and that its message is a “stark contradiction to what Mr. Scalise believes and practices as a father, a husband, and a devoted Catholic.”

RIIIIIGHT.. He had no idea that an organization created by David Duke had white supremacist leanings. Does anyone actually buy that pant-load?

Apparently not.

“By 2002, everybody knew that Duke was still the man he claimed not to be. EVERYBODY,” Erickson said in a blog on his website RedState.com “How the hell does somebody show up at a David Duke organized event in 2002 and claim ignorance?”

This kind of reporting only goes one way, towards right. Anything negative about the left, like Obama having his political coming out party in the home of Ayers-Dorhn, gets brushed aside. Which is worse, speaking to some so-called white supremacy group or hanging with a self avowed commie who has declared war against the USA?

First of all, it's not a "so called white supremacy group", It's a fucking white supremacy group. Full stop.

Secondly, The only hard facts about an Obama / Ayers connection are a $200 contribution by Ayers to the Obama re-election fund, and their joint membership of the eight-person Woods Fund Board. Not to mention that President Obama was eight years old when The Weathermen were active , over 40 years ago, and he unequivocally condemned their actions. Also, he was at Ayers' home at the behest of Alice Palmer, the outgoing Senator who named him as her replacement.

As far as their "relationship":
In a November 2008 Washington Post interview, Ayers said that he knew Obama only slightly: "I think my relationship with Obama was probably like that of thousands of others in Chicago and, like millions and millions of others, I wished I knew him better."

So the words of a candidate and a domestic terrorist trying to distance themselves from each-other on the heels of an election are probative over all other evidence of not only a very strong relationship, but a mentoring one...

..but on the matter you raised you gloss over the fact that records now show that that was not even the group he was addressing, at most he passed them in the hall?

So if Scalise had ben 8 years old when David Duke ran for office, that would have made the event (that didn't happen BTW) just fine?

Is there any degree that you will not carry water for "your team" and pour boiling tar on "the other team."

Hey I bought the story too. It would have been appallingly stupid. Now that it is not true, how long are you going to obfuscate saying a simple "oops!"?

If David Duke hadn't been involved in white supremacist activities since Scalise was 8 years old, had since become a professor and advisor to the Mayor Dailey, Oh and had surrendered himself for the illegal acts he committed while a member of the Weathermen (Ayers and his wife weren't prosecuted due to misconduct during the federal investigation.) then this whole thing would have been a non-issue. Just like the supposed Ayers / Obama connection was to all but the most gullible.

But Duke was still very much an active (still is) white supremacist when Scalise addressed the group. It was no secret, and for Scalise to try to claim ignorance of the fact only makes it appear that he believes that Republicans are stupid and gullible. In some cases, it appears that he was correct.

As far as the assertion that the event didn't happen ( according to Duke's people), Scalise admitted to this in 2002. The statements coming out now from David Duke's spokespeople are ass covering.

Looking for a RUG to hide THIS under

THIS IS OBVIOUSLY PROOF THAT ALL DEMOCRATS SUPPORT ISLAMIC TERROR: Congressman Walks Back Appearance At Islamic Terror Group’s Chicago Convention. You know, just like Todd Akin proved that all Republicans are pro-rape.
