How did you choose your avatar and username?

My name is a roughly translated slang term in my language that depicts a person who doesn't fit well with the rest of society, which is how I felt most of my life. And I am saying that as a completely straight guy even. I can't even begin to imagine how sexually diverse people feel in less understanding societies.

For the lack of better ideas, my avatar is the symbol of The Wheel of Time book series, a fantasy series I love, as deeply flawed as it is.

My avatar is a London bus stop designated KQ, because I live in south London and am a transport geek, especially for London transport. And the red goes well with the blue behind it.

My previous was a hawk that was part of the wall carvings in the main hall of the Natural History Museum - lovely bird but didn't really show up well as an avatar.

My avatar was something I saw on a wall at one of those make-your-own tee-shirt mall shops (kind of obvious, huh?) when I was a young teen and never forgot. Iā€™m a lifelong Californian and remembered the image when I joined Literotica and thought ā€œthatā€™s perfect for this place!ā€ My pen name came about as I tried to come up with something creatively stealthy tied to Wikileaks. I have no other tie to it, but readers address me as ā€˜Fifthā€™ most of the time these days, and I like that.

Bodington was my favorite beer to imbibe when I first joined Literotica. That beer is no longer available on the shelves of my local supermarket. Besides I get grief from my oldest daughter when I buy beer on the premise that I should not deteriorate my health unduly. So, I only drink hard liquor nowadays. Perhaps I might consider changing my user name to Johnny Walker Black. Red of course is too plebian and Blue is beyond my means. As to my avatar it is picture of a woman, who I happened to come across randomly while surfing the internet. To my mind she seems to represent the quintessential alluring woman whom I would be instantly attracted to based purely on physical appearance alone. I pattern some of my female characters with such physical characteristics in mind.
I'll say it again....I absolutely LOVE that woman in your avatar!!!

He, @StillStunned, I've always wondered about your username. Care to share?
Sure! The first story I posted here was one I wrote for my wife. It's about an Indiana Jones type who finds a statuette of the Goddess of Love in an ancient temple. The statue comes to life and they have hot sex (of course). Later, when he's back in his hotel she reappears and they have all kinds of supernatural sex adventures.

As I said, I wrote it just for my wife, and the characters were essentially the two of us. But she encouraged me to publish it here, so I made an account. The trouble was finding a username. Everything with "Goddess Lover" and so on was taken. So in the end I decided to describe the narrator's state of mind at finding himself the lover of the Goddess of Love.

The story, and the other twenty in the series, have since been taken down on my request. They were fun to write (and to read to my wife), but because the characters were essentially my wife and myself I felt uncomfortable having them out there for the world to read.

Cool thread!

"Thanks For All The Fish" is a quote from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the greatest book series of all time in my opinion.

And then my profile picture is Cheryl from the TV show Archer - she had a fun habit of ending up naked a lot in the first few season, and her classic ENF pose fitted perfectly for my kind of stories.

Thanks. But do you know that your profile picture is not showing up here?

Sorry, not trying to be mysterious or such, but no. Letā€™s just say that there was indeed a reason for the name, but I would prefer to keep that private. The bicycle, of course, is from the classic sci-fi series, The Prisoner. You may take from that whatever you wish. Again, apologies for not responding fully.

@32aa, is your username meant to be as lacking in meaning as it looks? (If you don't mind sharing.)

I like cats.

I'm a girl.

69 is the sex number, and this is a sex website.

I was surprised it wasn't take already, honestly. šŸ˜…

The name is an anagram of something dear to me.
The avatar is.. well, I happen to like the letter C, so it suits me perfectly.

Maybe when I'm old and famous, I will put the effort into designing some sort of avatar for myself. A golden statue, maybe a diamond one, with people kneeling around, praising me for my greatness. Something like that. Not something I expect happening anytime soon. (not because of the fame part, but well, getting old takes time :p)

Name is part from an old nickname that included Sin, coupled with the idea that I joined to read stories about sex (sin).... seemed clever at the time.

Avatar, not sure exactly. It's changed several times, but the homer avatar had a meaning when I changed it, just don't remember why... DOH!!!

Version 2006 boobs; I think back in the day they were in color but I decided to be more mysterious at some point and made them sepia.

Screen name is a nickname of mine, I was singularly uninspired when I joined, it just seemed easier to keep track of rather than something madeup.

Answered this in a previous thread, but what the heck, Iā€™ll do it again.

ā€œAchtungnightā€ is a translation of ā€œHello Darknessā€, a classic invocation of creative impulses used by a popular music artist duo.

I donā€™t have an avatar for this site because I have yet to find anything that meets my standards and the siteā€™s. Oh well.

Avatar is a Viking Raven standard, username is a contracted form of the title of a c.13th century Icelandic saga, an English translation of which I bought in a tiny Reykjavik bookshop back in the 90s.

I'll go first.

I chose my user name without thinking. AG are my initials. 31 is about as far from my favorite number, 14, as you can get and still be two digits. I'm not talking mathematically, obviously that would be 99, but vibe-wise. I don't remember if 14 wasn't available or I was just wanting to be really, really anonymous. Anyway, I always get a faint whiff of alienation when I type it.

My avatar is a photo of lupines and day lilies from our summer place. I really love colors. I can't imagine what I would do if I had to actually be creative about choosing an avatar. No ideas at all.
Don't know about Avatar (B?) but master calls me his babygirl (I'm only 5' tall, he is around 6'5")

ā¬…ļø See that dog? That's my buddy Duleigh. In 2001 I promised myself that if I could quit smoking and not have a cigarette for 6 months I'd get a dachshund puppy. And I did it. I quit cold turkey and in 2022 I got my puppy and named him Duleigh after Dooley the talking beer mug (Dogs can't spell) Duleigh passed away in 2018, just when I needed him most, but he was with me for 16 years so I can't hold it against him. Using him as an avatar and using his name is my way of keeping him around because I don't have time left for another dog.

The avatar I see here in the forum is the letter S, pink on a burgundy background...
Now that's weird. I see the female head with red hair.
There've been other times someone has described their avatar and I see none at all. Weird.
