I am a man in my early forties and would like to make friends online especially with ladies. How do I go about this? All I want is female friends with whom I can chat, send/receive emails and who knows, get to know each other better. I am a Nigerian living in Nigeria. I will appreciate any suggestion. Thanks

Joining forums, like this one, is a good way to go. Just be active in the community and get to know people. You'll find others with similar interests - or they will find you. Just be yourself and don't be afraid to get involved.

Hey, you might have just the connections I need. Let me explain:

So a month ago I responded to one of your countrymen who emailed me about a long-lost relative of mine who just died and left me a substantial fortune [cha-ching!]. I really appreciate that someone provides that kind of service and in such a polite manner. You should be proud!

Then I followed the instructions wiring a rather significant fee to a bank account. That money was intended for handling the paperwork and other costs of completing the inheritance. Plus I sent my US Social Security number and other pertinent details.

To date no one has followed up with further information on when I can expect the money.

Can I PM you? Maybe you can provide some assistance if you are willing.

Thanks.

It is unfortunate you fall for such scams but then every country has a share of their bad eggs. Reading about heartless serial killers in the US for instance does not make an average American a serial killer. Far from it. One last thing, if you don't have a long lost relations who could left you a fortune to inherit why would you reply to such email. It takes two to tangle.
The stupid guys that carries out these devilish acts are busy spoiling the image of our country but please, you should know that there are always good and bad guys in every country.

Scam? It's possible but the person I talked to on the phone seemed quite legit. Plus I ran this by one of my uncles (currently doing 5 years on fraud charges) and he concluded this to be real and that I was fortunate!

What's your uncle's opinion on making money through PayPal pyramid schemes--I mean, multi-level marketing?
