How do you post a pic so that it appears without a click?

Sorry if I'm being dim and this is written elsewhere, but could someone please tell me how to include a picture in a post so that it actually shows up in the body of your post rather than having to click a link? I know this only works for pictures that are already uploaded onto the web, but I don't know how to format the link to make them show up.

Thanks! :)

Use the IMG link in the Post panel, and just put in the complete URL to its online location... Preview it and you can see if it worked.

Literotica is deliberately configured to show attachments as links instead of displaying the image.

The Attachment database here is so large that displaying the images puts a severe load on the servers and slows down the whole site -- to the point of crashing it occasionally before the configuration was changed.

In short, it is not something you are doing wrong or that you can do differently, The Forums are actually configured to prevent displaying an attachment except on demand.

In order for an image to show up in a post without it being a clickable link it has to already be hosted on the internet somewhere (in other words not a picture from your own computer).

Once you find the picture you want to show, you can right click on the picture and hit the "properties" option and from there highlight and copy the image address (it will start out with http://www. and end with either .jpg or .gif)

To post it on Lit, when putting your message in look above where you type and you will see the options for your size, font, color, etc. In that area you will see a button called IMG. Click on that button, and a box will pop-up. In that box paste the url of the image you are trying to post (that http://www thing from earlier) and click ok. When you're all done typing, and go to preview/post it, the image should be there without having to click on it.

Hope this clears things up for you, and if yous still have any troubles feel free to post back, or shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do to help.

Tap :rose:

Thanks, Tap, but it's still showing just as if I'd just pasted the URL into the post. I did as instructed twice, but it just doesn't seem to work

What is the address of the picture you're trying to post? I'll see if I can get to work.

Sometimes you cannot post certain pictures on a message board, due to restrictions set up by the image's server (I know I'm speaking geekeneze again, sorry).

It was a general query, but the one I tried out was one I've posted at lit previously:
https://forum.literotica.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=7311051
Do lit have that restriction? I thought in that case it'd show as red cross rather than a click link....but....err...I dunno

Appreciate your help btw! :)

Attachments are an "image source" not an "image URL" and cannot be used with the IMG tags.

Attachments CAN be used in your signature with the HTML "IMG SRC=" syntax, but attachments will always show up as a link in your posts.

If you are determined to force everyone to download the image, then you need to put a copy on the personal webspace your ISP provides or get it hosted somewhere that allows hotlinking.

Links from Lit itself don't work, as Harold stated above. They have to be elsewhere, thus the strain is not on Lit's servers. The URLs here aren't to actual images, they're to database ID's thus they don't display.
