How Many Dead?

How many dead in New York?! How many dead in DC?! War is when your army kills people and breaks things. Thanks to AMERICAN technology, the body counts are the absolute minimum. Perhaps you'd like a Tokyo fire raid...100,000 dead. I get the idea where your allegiance is. Your views are pathetic.

LC, nothing personal but maybe you should read the thread before commenting and the topic thread fine print which read:

This not a thread to complain or compare the numbers killed in Afgan. versus the WTC. We've already covered that subject ad nauseum. We're all patriots in our own way. The question here is one of fair and balanced reporting and journalistic integrity.

Are you saying that the media shouldn't care or count or give us the news based on the fact that this is war?

Very good. You have more in common with the Taliban than you know if you think the truth should be masked.

Quite nice. Sorry Cheyenne, but I had forgotton you existed.

Oh, I'm sure you tried. :D

Glad you enjoyed that trip you insisted you'd never get, just like the tax refund.

As per your request I re-read your thread, my position stands. The only thing to add, who writes for your sources? I went to the "fair" site, its obvious bias is almost, "Taliban". :D

Yeah, any site that goes after NPR and The Washington Times as well as Newsweek and The New York Times is truly commie.

Lost Cause? More like lost the plot completely!

We are reminded daily , and quite rightly, of the numbers who died at the Pentagon and WTC.

Aid agencies remind us on a daily basis of the numbers who will die if aid does not get in. When aid does get in those same agencies quickly tell us how many lives they are saving.

I have no gripe with any of that. I do baulk at both our governments and all our journalists who basically don't care and wont tell us how many Afghan citizens have died. All we want is simple information given to us in a fair and balanced way.

Not too hard?

The "Media" is the victim

of it's own hubris. No one seems to trust any media outlet. There was a time when you would read different papers because you knew their bias, and factored that in to the opinion you drew. When did that stop?

Example: The other day I heard that Freddie Barnes refered to Geraldo Rivera as a "liberal media icon." Someone (I forget who) in The Nation wrote "more like 'liberal media joke.'" Given the sources, I can draw my own conclusions.

What I think is sad, is that the media are not probably not reporting all the details they might, and they are probably being prevented from reporting some that they might by the military, and they are probably being prevented from reporting some others that they might by their own marketing people.

WD, wouldn't that be a lean to the left if those were the ONLY resources they used? Please provide a link when you're citing not well known facts please.

Typical Pretard Behavior!

You pretty conveniently forgot this disclaimer that preceded the list of Alternative websites:

Here are some of the websites that FAIR visits most often to keep up with the news. Please note that we don't necessarily endorse the way these sites covers the issues; some of them are worth visiting for their critical perspectives, others simply because the media outlets are particularly influential. Happy browsing!

You see WD, the idea is to gain PERSPECTIVE from ALL sources not just major media outlets.

Hey, I heard Lost Cause called you a Socialist, you figure that out yet?

Why can't you call it what it is? A liberal media watch-dog group.
All anyone has to do is spend about 30 seconds there to see that.
