HOw to create trademarks on pics?

Hey guys, I have seen pics on this site that have trademarks on them so that thye can't be used elsewhere on the web. I have done some searches but have only turned up programs for sale that can create these. Is there a way to put them on pics in microsoft or a free program that I can download? I have adobe album starter addition3.0 but can't find any items in it that will help me.
Help is greatly appreciated in advance.

I'm not sure what you mean by "trademarks."

I don't know of any free programs that can "watermark" an image, but watermarks don't show visibly so I don't think that's what you're looking for.

Adding a copyright notice or web-address to an image is simply adding text to the image and almost any image editor can do that.

That sounds like what I am looking for. Just want to make a mark on a photo that says I made this. gonna look at my programs some more but I am a novice at this type of thing.

Look in your help menu for "adding text" or a similar entry.

If you don't find it in your Adobe Album software, check out Irfanview at www.irvanview.com -- it's a free windows based image management program.
