In terms of their natural hair color, I knew so far that women are categorized as black-haired (brunettes), brown-haired, red-haired (gingers) and blondes.

On the other hand, very often I see pics of brown-haired women who are described as brunettes, blondes as gingers etc.

So I have a somehow silly question, since english isn't my mother tongue: Who is wrong, me or them?

Clearly my post is not good enough, Chobo.

Where are you from? (Yup, I'm nosy)

I think, as a foreigner myself, I know what you mean.

Women are just fussy, you know.
We have hundred different names to describe pink and even more for green and blue. We like to make things more complicated than they are. :D
Since- strawberry blond, swedish blond, jett black, auburn brown, chestnut, etc.
Brunette hair is brown hair.

Brunette means brown haired, not black at all. Raven or inky is a word for black haired.
