How to post a picture on a thread?

My wife and I are here to learn, grow and engage with this community, she has been asked to post pictures in threads. We have read the pinned posts about what NOT to post, but how does a user upload personal, non-copyrighted pictures, of modest nudity, not underage, and not involving nonhumans?

Often you can just copy and paste. Otherwise use the little picture icon above the text box (with the sun and mountains).

I often find myself running afoul of the max file size, though, so you might want to check what those rules are.

Ok, I just did it here but we have tried it over and over on different threads but that button leads to an “insert link (URL)” message. Is there a picture upload site, Imgur, tumblr that is used?
