How To Post an Avatar...

GGGRRRR I have resized & resized & it still tells me it is too big!

HELP!!!!


Any suggestions? I know this has probably been posted 1000 times, but am too frustrated to look!!! Can someone please talk me thru this?

You have to compress the image, probably. What are you using to shrink it?

I used photoshop Pro.

How do I compress it?

Here is the pic I wanna use...If you think you can get it to work, please have a go at it. I would appreciate it very much.

Never mind...I just used a different one 'til I figure this out.

In Photoshop:
File>Save for Web
On 'Quality' slide the bar until it's small enough (it should show you approximately how big under the photo).

Sometimes saving it as a gif (especially in the Save for Web option) also reduces the size enough.

I did this attachment at 37 quality, and got it down to 4.3kb.

HI Im new to this and the magical world of forums so I am having trouble posting an avatar aswell! When I try to it says its too big? My PC is ancient so I dont have photoshop etc? Can anyone help?

Here is the picture: actually just tried to upload the pic and it is too large to attach? Im tres confused! Aaaaah!

Any help at all woul be apprectiated, as I want to start posting pics etc on here!!
