How to sleep better

Ah yeah, I would try and stay away from that type of fantasy. Anything that gets the blood boiling won't be conducive to becoming relaxed enough to sleep.

Hopefully it's just a temporary blip and you can get to sleep again tonight.

I'm manifesting a good night's sleep for you.
Haha! Thanks. Appreciate

I think I’m due for a good one tonite.

We’ll see!

I've read quite a few of the replies and the stand out one to me is join a sleep study

You mentioned your PTSD, do you keep a sleep journal?

Is there a noise in your house that could be waking you? Boards settling, ac ticking (I'm in the UK so unfamiliar with it).
Could it be a noise outside?

The ptsd is almost exclusively from dreams. I don’t have any control over it.

When it happens, I’ve learned some good techniques to ground.

Anyway - hoping for some good sleep tonght. I should be in bed by ten and that is a good time for me.

I snuggle with my X nightly..........no sex, but good sleeping with a smart dame who wants me alive.
Mine claims she doesn't sleep, but is asleep before I am and usually after I am too.
I am pretty good at getting close without waking her up now. I use her like that.

Mine's been outta commission for a while now. Then recently did something to my back. Still waiting for the MRI. Luckily it gets hard but with the left side missing I can't push it. Actually having trouble walking. I don't beg and was disappointed when I showed it to her. I'm stuck with self service until I ind out my options and she recovers or makes a decision.

Mine has a bad back, etc. We snuggle; that's it. Glad I have a gay BF.

I would go for a massage from time to time. I miss the foreplay where we focused on the other. Hence the name personal favors. To relax and have someone take their time and really make it happen. I've always enjoyed being on either end of that. As I got some age feeling a pretty woman even though anonymous do it for me was just enough excitement to get me by and keep me honest. But still have some time to go before I can entertain that. Wouldn't want to get more hurt.

I’m an insomniac. I rarely sleep through the night. I think I have good sleep habits. I go to bed around the same time every night.

I am 55, I eat well, lots of fruit, veggies, and not too close to bedtime. Im in decent shape and work out 3-4x a week.

I’ve started doing yoga stretches and also meditation before bedtime.

I’ve tried getting high, I’ve tried cbd, melatonin, masturbating when I wake up or go to bed. I’ve tried staying off of my phone and being on my phone.

I am a very light sleeper and also unfortunately have ptsd. I wake up almost every morning at 2-330am.

Any tips or advice you all have on staying asleep or getting back to sleep when you wake up?

EDIT: I am doing much better in the sleep department and managing myself mentally and holistically. But this is a great thread for sharing tips for sleeping better.

While I’m sleeping better these days, I can’t say it’s great.
Physical exercise. Get tired.

If you are having dreams that cause PTSD, I would hazard a guess that what is driving those dreams is from something you have experienced. Having nightmares is normal, having nightmares that cause PTSD is not.

I have one, our bodies process light differently by type. To get your body into sleep cycle blue light works against that. If you are using computers or phones at night, get a blue light filter app (MacOs has one you can enable in it, not sure about windows, but there are apps), or there is the twilight app. Also, have lights on with amber or red light, instead of standard LED lights. I have found by doing these thing, I fall asleep a lot easier. I don't know if they have that for tv screens or not. Plus try to get early morning sunlight outside if you can and the evening sun, this helps set the right rhythm for sleep.

It’s the other way around. Ptsd causes the bad dreams.

If I put in a solid 10-11 hour workday (up at 5 15) come home eat supper and get a shower, once my head hits the pillow around 9 30ish I go right to sleep.
But that's just me and don't smoke or drink though.
