George Orwell had it right. Wars are fought for power over the populace.
You can dress it up as fighting for an ideology, or fighting for a religion but that is never what it's really about. It is about control and power. People with no ego don't start wars.

Sadly, there are no people without an ego.
You can pretend but even at the most basic level, it will be there.

I went to a Free Methodist church. We can have an all girls night. Hair, makeup, snacks, but no religious sermons.

My buddy and I used to ditch our church to hang with the Lutherans. Always had coffee and doughnuts. Wasn't a big fan of coffee but doughnuts, yes. I don't get too deep into religion, the deep forest is my church. Feel more spiritual there than any other place.
