I’m so old I remember…

Taking film to Fox Photo to get it developed.. they could do it in an hour.

Does anyone remember planning for the long family weekend and buying film?

1 role of 12 frames, 6x4, one roll of 24 35milimeter, and one roll of 24 35mm, but Color! :nana:

Then you wait a week to have them developed, so it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg....

I don't remember buying the film. I bought a nikon scanner with a bayonet for slides. Scanned / archived all 5000 of them. I paid to have all the 8mm video digitized. That media was made from corn and will become brittle if not stored properly.

I still have my dad’s Leica camera and the flash on it had a real bulb with an aluminum screen behind to reflect the light forward!

I have grandfathers 8mm. I do not know how to find film or have it developed.
Something I would like to design or find is a box with a prism and some way to control the zoom ratio and release the shutter on my iphone. Using it like a rolleiflex camera would allow for much more candid photos of others. Having the camera at your waist level the subject is looking you in the eye. Natural expression makes for much better photos.
