I am Music

One more before the clock strikes 12. This is probably my favorite romantic song ever. It's just lovely. There are many great versions of it including Ella Fitzgerald's and Chet Baker's but this more recent one is excellent as is Samara Joy.

I'm Old-Fashioned
Song by Jerome Kern

I am not such a clever one
About the latest fads
I admit I was never one
Adored by all the lads
Not that I ever tried to be a saint
I'm the type that they classify as quaint

I'm old-fashioned
I love the moonlight
I love the old-fashioned things
The sound of rain
Upon a windowpane
The starry song that April sings

This year's fancies
Are passing fancies
But sighing sighs, holding hands
These my heart understands

I'm old-fashioned
And I don't mind it
That's how I'll always be
As long as you agreeI
To stay old-fashioned with me

I think Emmet Cohen and Samara Joy are both fabulous musicians, and this video of their very intimate duo concert in Italy is a favorite of mine:

This is beautiful. I miss this part of my life. Thank you for sharing.
I love how Segovia took so many Bach compositions that can feel cold or frantic and warmed them up by transcribing them for guitar. It sounds beautiful and peaceful to me, too.

I've never heard of him before but he did an amazing job interpreting and reinventing Bach's music.

Only bad players can make them cold or frantic. That piece was originally written for violin, and my favorite recording is by Nathan Milstein:
