 I cannot find my posting I did last night. Is there a way to locate it and how do I reply to those who reply to it?

Ok. You have no stories posted on Lit.

Did you SUBMIT it last night or was it actually posted under NEW STORIES?

It takes 4 to 7 days to POST a story after it is submitted. Some times as long as 10 days.

Mistake

I am sorry, I guess I am talking about a "Thread" rather than a story. I just joined last night and posted a hello. Now I cannot find it. I have not gotten up the courage to write a story yet.

If you click on your name, either by a post, or under the thread title on the main How To page, you will view your profile. Then, click the "View All Threads (or posts)" link on the left side of your profile, and it will show you your threads or posts. Go to the appropriate one, and hit either the QUOTE button on the post of the person you want to quote, or the REPLY button at the bottom of the thread. That'll give you a new screen where you can enter your reply.

An easier way, in my opinion (IMO), is to click USER CP (at the top or left of your screen, depending on which forum skin you use), then EDIT OPTIONS. In the middle of your screen, you'll see DEFAULT THREAD SUBSCRIPTION MODE under MESSAGING and NOTIFICATION. Make sure or change that to INSTANT EMAIL NOTIFICATION. That'll send an email to the address you registered with at least the first time someone replies to a thread you post to, unless you tell it to not subscribe before you post or you unsubscribe (there are instructions for that on each email).

You can also subscribe to individual threads (like your own) by choosing that option before you submit the thread/post (at the bottom of the posting page) or at any time by clicking on the thread and choosing the Subscribe option.

This way, you can keep up with all of the threads you're interested in easily.

Please read the "FAQs Before Posting" and the other threads (called "stickies" because they're always at the top) at the top of How To, if you haven't done so already. It'll familiarize you with how things work and what's expected here, so you're more comfortable. And welcome to Lit! :)

Go ahead and write. Everyone has to start somewhere. Lit is a great place to learn the craft. Most of us are always willing to help in the Feedback Forum.

It seems it was moved to the personals section which I guess was the original intent of the post, usualy the mods leave a "moved" link behind.
Welcome to lit, I hope you find what you are looking for.

Thanks to All

I found it though, one reply was a little harsh. Any way thanks to all who responded  :)

With all due respect, if you've interpreted anything in this thread as harsh, perhaps you need to sit back and observe for a while to see the dynamics of each board. The majority of the Lit forums are frequented by helpful, compassionate, yet "no frills" members, which is exactly what you've received in this thread.

Written communication, especially on forums, can easily be misinterpreted. If one comes in without observing the personalities and dynamics of each forum, they're likely to be put on the defense and misinterpret messages easily. If one sits back and gets a feel for what might be expected in each forum and the community at large by reading posts, stickies, rules and figuring out the logistics, they're much more likely to have a sense of being welcomed and find their place in the community better.

It's your choice, of course (just like you can choose to interpret this as harsh rather than as intended - helpful), but I'd advise going for the second option to improve your chance at having the best experience possible. Or, stick to The Playground and AmPics, where you're more likely to be coddled, but even in those forums it's important to observe and read the stickies so you don't violate rules/norms and generally make an ass of yourself, which will likely lead to having a poor experience. :)

That was not intended for all

One of the replies had, replied to an earlier thread in another forum and it was interesting that then I was thought of as not being sensitive. I am still learning that the replies that I post are read by more than those who have already replied. I suspect that the one I wanted to get the message will never see it. Things are looking up though.

My apologies, I thought I had left a moved notification. Your post was more suited for the playground, nothing personal, but you seemed to be looking to meet up with people. THat's the place to post :)
