"I didn't pull the trigger"

Guns are safe IF you know how to handle them. Just like table saws, or chain saws, or cars, or motorcycles or, or, or... To be safe is a simple thing: Know the rules, follow the rules. The problem with guns is the same fucking problem with cars or saws or anything that is dangerous, too many fucking idiots handling them that THINK they know how. No one should be allowed to touch a gun until they go through a training course. Hell we don't let people drive a car unless they have a license which means they know the rules and how to drive. And no, requiring training to own and handle a gun isn't infringing on the 2nd amendment rights. Why? Because it's not saying you can't own a gun, it is because you need to be trained before you own one. Major fucking difference.

Anyway it looks like Alec has been charged with manslaughter. That's just the start. The civil actions will soon follow. Maybe, just maybe people in the industry wil take note.

Pretty sure the civil suit involving Alec Baldwin and Halyna Hutchins’ family was settled.

The criminal charges against Baldwin are laughable imho.

But here we are.

I haven't seen or read anything about a civil suit being settled. But if you have please cite it for I'd like to read it. I've stated my reasons I think he was going to be indicted on some criminal charge, as he should be. His popularity, political leanings or stature in the movie business have nothing at all to do with it. Through his ignorance and the fact, as the director, he allowed an unsafe work place a person was killed and he was one who did it. Stupidity and ignorance of the law is not a credible defense for man slaughter.

I'd be happy to see all assault rifles banned from sale. And any collected off the streets be melted down.

If the cylinder is kicked out to the side the barrel is open from end to end and you can easily see if a round is there.
There is never a round in the "barrel" of a double action revolver, they are in the cylinder, with the cylinder swung out the pistol cannot be fired whether it is loaded or unloaded. The subject pistol fired by Baldwin is a single-action revolver in which the rounds are stored in a cylinder that is fixed.

Yep, there is so much ignorance about handguns and their various parts. It kinda blows a hole in the claim that they’re weapons in common use.

1. Guns aren't cars and there's no Constitutional Amendment to keep and own a car.

2. Anything which requires that someone undergo a government "approval" or "training" program isn't a "Right" it's a permission.

3. "Fees" and "permits" which prevent the exercise of a Constitutional Right are unconstitutional. (See eg: poll taxes and the current outcry against voter id.)

If Americans could have cars for the purpose of maintaining a well regulated militia they would be regarded as a right (but without needing a militia).

Funny thing, but if anyone joins the actual military they give you training before allowing you to strut round with a gun.

And not really related to this thread.

It's related just enough for the Left to feign outrage over white supremacy and guns.

Apparently the Monterey Park shooting was because of a domestic issue. Apparently DV restraining orders and Red Flag laws that the Left touts as a solution to gun violence didn't work. Nor did any of the other anti-gun laws in Ca.

But I'm sure that someone will chime in with the opinion that if we just have one more law against guns, gun violence will stop. Even if it won't and that person admits that gun laws don't stop violence, just reduce it.

Then they could wave flags of insurrection and watch people turn left.

You try telling one of them good ol' southern NASCAR boys that you think he's a Lefty and you better be ducking when you do it.

Or have a good orthodontist.

Harpy didn’t even understand the “watch people turn left” NASCAR reference.

🙄

And then Harpy went all Ted Cruz and threatened Bray123 with violence from other individuals.

👉 Harpy 🤣

So a gun can fire a bullet without anything touching the trigger. I wonder if anyone will admit to being wrong on that point.
There was a story on Monday about a Filipino army sergeant accompanying his mother to an MRI. "Sergeant you cannot take your rifle into the MRI room!" "The hell I can't!"

They switched on the MRI machine for Mom and the sarge had to use all of his considerable muscles to prevent the metal rifle from being torn from his hands and hitting his mom. The magnetic field was so intense that the trigger pulled (nothing touching it but magnetic waves) and the rifle shot the sarge in the foot.

One of the few instances that I'll accept "the gun just went off!" as an excuse.

I’ll also accept a mechanically defective / poorly maintained weapon malfunctioning after the hammer has / had been cocked and / or the safety taken off.

For example:

Just sayin’…..
