Nervous. In one word Emma was nervous. And who could blame her? It was after all the biggest and most important day of her life wasn’t it? Her wedding the day she ceased to be known as Emma St. James and became Emma Livingston. It was a right proper match, they were perfect for each other, both of them well-educated, from good families and attractive. The twenty seven year old couldn’t help but smile at her fresh faced reflection at the thought of Paul Livingston, one of the most eligible bachelors in New York and he was as of this day forward all hers.

Her denim blue eyes scanned her appearance to make sure not a hair was out of place and then reapplied the deep red lipstick to her full lips. Other than the bold mouth the rest of her makeup was kept very simple and demure as the woman she had been bred to be. Her dress was classic and elegant, long and figure hugging till it fanned out around the knees into a beautifully long train.

The beading was breathtakingly detailed and the sheer embroidered caplet that adorned her shoulders was a cherished piece from her mother’s wedding dress.
Pleased with the image in the mirror she let out a shuttered breath in hopes of letting out some of the butterflies in her stomach. A knock at the door and her father’s head popping through the door told her it was now or never.

Looking down at the ring on her left hand she smiled, picked up the bouquet of white lilies and jasmine and went out to change her life forever.

Throughout the ceremony she felt as if in a daze, she couldn’t believe she was marrying this man and so once it was officially sealed with an exchange of rings and a kiss she felt as if she could breathe again.

“Darling” The tall dark and handsome Paul beamed, putting his arm around his new bride “You remember me telling you about my cousin Miranda don’t you?”
“The one you got into all the trouble with when you a boy?” she asked sipping champagne with a grin.

“Yeah, that’s the one, come on, I want to introduce you to her.” He said leading her away from their table to go meet Cousin Miranda.

.
Miranda had wondered outside with her partner, and family as a few of them were smokers, including Sarah. Sarah was a couple of years younger than Miranda at 23 and was several inches taller standing at 5'7. They had met of all places in the college's gym just outside New York City. They had a turbulent relationship, but the sex was good. At times though especially such as this family occasion, whilst they would amke Sarah welcome, they wished Miranda would go and find a boy friend, or at least a male fuck buddy. The truth be told, Miranda had one but that was currently her secret.

Her parents, specifically her father was a homophobe of either sex, and she was strong willed enough to press her point home. Besides Sarah and her father had something in common; other than smoking, working in the Public Relations field.

She felt Sarah squeeze her hand softly as they talked, Miranda was too busy watching Sarah inhale the cigarette. She hated smoking, thought it was a foul habit, yet could not resist watching Sarah take a drag, curve her lips around the filter to inhale. She would often imagine it was her nipple she was about to inhale. Sarah was wearing an orange- red dress which contrasted nicely with Miranda's blue dress

It was whilst she was watching Sarah's lips make love to her cancer stick that she saw her father make eye contact - some one was approaching her from her side. She turned to see the Groom, and Bride approach. Paul was her cousin who was a few years older than herself, but he was the one in part to blame for her cycling addiction.

"Congratulations Paul " Miranda offered greeting him with a hug..

"And you must be the lovely Emma... I've accepted the fact that now your in the family I am now relegated to second place in the beauty contest. Please this is Sarah, my partner."

"Lovely to met you" She politely replied

They made for an adorable contrast Paul at 6’1 and petite Emma at 5’3 but she was a fan of high heels, and had the extensive collection to prove it, and so even before she got a good look at Miranda her eyes cast down a moment and she got a good look at her footwear. Approved, her eyes traveled up to her face and instantly she felt…. Something. It wasn’t a pang, or a pressure or anything that she could describe it was… simply… a feeling when she looked into her eyes.

She must have been looking longer than she’d thought as Paul gave her a very quizzical look. Uh-oh he’s introduced me and I’ve been staring she thought, with embarrassment. “It’s lovely to meet you both, I’m so sorry, the wedding stress and this champagne is starting to get to me I think.” She chuckled, with practiced ease. She’d always had a silver tongue and usually her good matured personality made people feel at ease with her and forgive her small transgressions.

Besides, it had to be true right? That feeling… it was probably the alcohol mixing with lack of sleep. “Uh, Paul I think you’ll have to finish mine for me” she smiled up at him handing him the glass before turning back to her new in-laws.

“Paul tells me you used to go biking with him on the weekends… Do you cycle too” oh shit what was the friends name S… S… Sa… Sama- no San- “ Sarah?” she asked politely. The friends name since she’d been in a haze of inexplicable feeling and despite the fact that she was good, she wasn’t that good.

.
“ Sarah?”

"Yes " she replied with a hiss " with a H"

Sarah was used to people being in shock (as was Miranda) when people realised they were there as a couple, partners rather than just good friends..

Miranda squeezed her hand to reassure as she spoke..

"Yes, I still cycle, that is how Sarah and I met at the college Gym, we were both attending the same classes, and we were the only two in proper lycra cycling attire."

Miranda squeezed Sarah's hand as she continued "There is something soo sexy about undressing a fellow girl, peeling her layers of Lycra away exposing the sports bra, the flesh...."

"That's enough detail" her father commented exhaling deeply...

"Sorriieeeee" replied Miranda with a teasing grin as she caught Emma's eyes, gaze and smiled.

"Why the interest Emma, you ride as well?"

“Oh…” she couldn’t help raising a brow at Sarah thinking the woman rather strange, for the aggression that she felt was rather unwarranted “alright Sarah, with an H…” really what else was she to say to that, her attention was taken again though by her captivating Brunette companion in blue.

Miranda’s next comment really got her brow up though… “peeling layers of Lycra…” whoa she hadn’t quite been prepared for that, and she couldn’t say that she was unthankful for her father’s reaction.

“Oh well I’ve only been with Paul out of doors a few times, never a class” she chuckled “And well Paul can’t go for a while since his little accident” the last part she said with a slight smirk as she leaned in closer to the two women and whispered, which got her a playful slap from her husband “Hey! Keep your hands to yourself please.”

.
“And well Paul can’t go for a while since his little accident”

Miranda saw Paul's playful slap, and giggled leaning in closer to Emma..

"You will have to tell me later.... But I, we cycle most weekends 20-30 miles when we can."

Miranda made eye contact with Emma again, and subconsciously liked her lower lip with the tip of her tongue.

"Time to refill my glass, Please excuse me..." holding up her glass, waiting to be refilled.

With that Miranda left the family group, with Sarah following her as she finished her glass.

Emma smile “Perhaps we can make it a group thing some time” a slight shiver running through her when Miranda licked her lip, it was innocent enough, people lick their lips all the time, nobody thinks anything of it, but for some reason… No Emma you’re tired you’re reading into it.

Paul hadn’t seemed to notice as all he did was nod and wrap his arm around his wife again “By the time this woman has a free weekend we can call it a double date, Cheers lovely, enjoy.” And then it was off for more socializing with other wedding guests. Talking to this Uncle and that niece, and the next door neighbor that used to baby sit. After about another hour Emma was so wiped out, she still hadn’t had a chance to eat and all the liquids the various relatives were plying her with were starting to make themselves known.

Excusing herself from the her mother’s best friend she ducked out of the main party hall in search of the loo, and cursed herself for going with such a ridiculous venue where the toilets were not directly outside the main hall.

Opening the door that she thought would lead her to the bathroom she stood frozen in shock by the site that met her. A tangle of blue and red-orange, and roaming hands. Miranda and Sarah with an H were so few feet away from her having their very own party. She was stunned and rooted to the floor.

.
Miranda and Sarah spent the next few hours mingling with the guests, and dancing on the dance floor.

They had also had been outside with family members, allowing the smokers to indulge,. Watching Sarah smoke at times was a real aphrodisiac for her, tonight was no exception.

Soon the 'First dance' moment arrived, as the couple moved onto he dance floor.. There followed several slow ballads, which resulted in the couple dancing as they held each other close, their hands caressing the other's body.

Slowly Miranda had moved her lips to Sarah's neck.

After a few seconds, Sarah reacted.. "Please not here.." With that she grasped Miranda's hand and led her through what appeared to eb a maze until they entered a room alone; the music barely audible, but enough for them to embrace, move with the music.

The two soon started to kis, as their hands explored each other's bodies, Miranda running her fingers along Sarah's thigh, following the suspender strap.

They kissed intensely, before soft light delicate butterfly kisses.

It was such a delicate kiss that Miranda opened her eyes briefly and saw the bride. She closed her eyes again as the kiss deepened..

Sarah pushed Miranda back against a wall, as she slid her hand onto her thigh, grasping the skirt of Miranda's dress, exposing the lace stocking tops; as her thigh pressed against Miranda's crutch.

Emma realised what Sarah was doing, fucking Miranda's cunt with her thigh.

"Oh god" she gasped

Suddenly, the two lovers stopped, Sarah's thigh still pressing against Miranda's crutch as they both looked upon the Bride...

“Oh…” a deep flush flooded her cheeks as she realized what she’d walked in on “Oh my…” when they stopped and looked at her red faced standing there flustered for once not knowing how to help herself out of a situation. “D-do forgive me I’m t-terribly sorry.” She stammered holding a hand up to her face to shield her eyes. From what she wasn’t sure since that image was in her mind, but she didn’t wish them to think her rude.

“Please, I saw nothing… carry on” she said slowly backing out the door, that strange feeling back this time accompanied by another familiar warmth which she didn’t understand. And was far too embarrassed to analyze at this time. The only thing she wanted to do was get out and carry on the rest of the evening without any more embarrassments.

.
"“Please, I saw nothing… carry on”"

Miranda smiled. She knew Emma could have left 4 or 5 minutes ago but had chosen to stay, though she didn't let onto Sarah.

"Well Emma glad you enjoyed the show, and when Paul fucks you later tongiht if the booze hasnt got to his penis, you know you will close your eyes and remember your exclusive show, wont you?" Stated Sarah in a turse voice

Miranda regained her composure as she let the skirt of her dress fall back to her knees, and reached out to Emma taking a step forward.

"Sarah don't be cruel its her big day... Emma, I suggest you rejoin the party... Hope you have a lovely honeymoon..."

Miranda turned to Sarah... "And you my little minx, I want to fuck you now, it's time to retire!"

Were Emma not so flustered about what she’d seen she probably would have made a reply to Sarah’s nasty comment. In Emma’s book first impressions were key as that’s all you needed to know what sort of person you were dealing with. And Emma did not like Sarah. From the very beginning she’d had some sort of attitude problem.

Miranda was decent enough and she would have smiled and thanked her if she weren’t so flustered by the whole thing . “yeah… thanks” was all she was able to manage as she quickly got the hell out of there, find the restroom and enjoy the rest of her wedding.

.
Sarah and Emma retired to their room, and had great sex. that evening that all it was, great sex between two lovers. There was nothing emotional about it at all apart from being in a relationship, even if it were an open relationship. It was just good hard core fucking. Nothing more nothing less.

The following morning Miranda was awake early and as Sarah nursed her hang over, Miranda headed down to breakfast and sat alone.

She looked around and saw a few other guests from the previous evening. It wasn't long before she saw Emma and Paul enter.

"They should have left surely?" Miranda asked herself

She continued to eat her breakfast alone as she read the morning newspaper on her tablet.

Emma had been raised in a very traditional household and it reflected in many aspects of her life including the traditional after wedding brunch between family and bridal party. It’d been her mother’s idea, her mother that she realized while looking around the dining room who was nowhere to be found.

As her blue eyes traveled the room they fell on Miranda, instantly the scene from the night before sprang up in her mind but she had much less alcohol in her system this morning and therefore was able to turn her face away and look very interested in the opposite corner of the room till Paul’s warm chocolate eyes fell on his cousin and his large hand curved about his wife’s small waist and began to pull her towards Miranda.

“Hey short stuff, breakfast alone?” he mused with a raised brow before kissing the top of Emma’s head “That’s one problem I won’t have to worry about anymore.” He grinned pulling her around so that she was standing in front of him encased in his arms. The comment made Emma chuckle a little awkwardly and she attempted to avoid eye contact.

“Come on darling I’m sure Sarah will be down any minute and they won’t want to be disturbed.”

.
“Hey short stuff, breakfast alone?”

"Don't bully me because you had an hyperactive thyroid gland when you were younger. After all all good things come in small packages don't we Emma?" winking play fully.

"Hope the two of you had a lovely day, and thanks for the invitation, sorry Sarah isn't down here but I wore her out last night. She is a pain in the ass but one of the best fuck's I've had the pleasure to encounter" Miranda winked again generally at the young coupe teasing them both.

"Well she will be down soon, but have a good honeymoon and look forward to hearing your tales at the next family gathering.

Emma a little at the wink, out of politeness and leaned a little more against Paul, her arms curling around his as she tried to chase away another flash of Miranda and Sarah out of her mind.

“Hey lets keep it PG-13 kid” Paul grinned at Miranda “Besides” he said leaning in closer to Miranda and whispering “nothing can compare to a night with Emma” He gave her a devilish wink and couldn’t help laugh.

“Paul!” the red faced blond delivered him a sharp slap on the arm and received a playful grope in return. Rolling her eyes she shook her head “You’re incorrigible.”

“And you love it” he laughed looking down at her that familiar hunger in his eyes that wasn’t for waffles and bacon, it brought a coy smile to her face and she blushed.

“Thanks Miranda, it was good seeing you again…. Have a nice stay at the hotel…” she mumbled as they left her table and consequently the dining room.

All thoughts of Paul’s lesbian cousin and what she’d been exposed to pushed to the far corners of her mind, forgotten till another time when the two might meet up again…

Several months had passed, with the onset of Summer replaced with the Onset of Autumn, the trees in the state of New York will starting to turn, displaying their lovely oranges and reds

Another Cousin of Paul's Christening up in the Mountains, close to Mirror Lake...

Miranda is single again, her love/hate relationship with Sarah was for the moment over. Miranda had stayed the Friday night at the hotel, where the Christening party was to take place. She dined alone the night previously having driven up from New York City, before retiring early. She woke up early, and had a light breakfast, before taking her road bike from her car, and dressed in lycra went for a 25 mile or so ride. The terrain was hilly, so she took her time, but enjoyed the adrenalin of pushing herself down hill, reaching over 40mph on one hill.

She arrived back at the hotel, around 11 am, as she was putting the bike away, an still in her Lycra she thought she saw Paul and Emma, but they ventured into reception before she was able to attract their attention.

Around 12, she was showered and dressed; dressed in a simple blue and white patterned wrap over dress and stylish knee high black boots. Her hair in a pony she left the hotel for a walk; to find a coffee house for some refreshment before the christening party back at the hotel at two...

She relaxed as she drank some lemon water, and her large Americano as she ate her pannini reading her trusted tablet. Before long, it was time to walk back to the hotel, a cool breeze had developed, causing Miranda's nipples to harden against the soft cotton fabric of her dress. Her breasts were firm, shapely, pert, and didn't need the support of a bra; a freedom she often exercised, today was one of those days.

Finally she reached the hotel just after twenty to two, early. She followed the signage to the reception room and said hi to the few family members, as she sipped her wine unaware that Paul and Emma had arrived.

Emma elegant as always sported a knee length olive green cowl neck dress that hugged and flattered her figure, she was thankful that it was a pretty warm day for the northern fall season and therefore was able to get away with wearing just a pair of dark purple suede ankle boots and a fitted purple blazer for warmth. She’d cut her hair since the wedding and it now brushed her shoulders in the loose retro coiffure.

Paul at her side sported a dark navy almost black suite and shirt but he’d ditched the tie and opted to leave the top two buttons open, being forced to wear a tie day in and day out for work he refused to wear it to an event such as this.

Grabbing them both a glass of wine he handed one to Emma who was already engrossed in a conversation with his great Aunt Theresa, rehashing the wedding from some months ago. Smiling, happy to see her getting on so well with his family he branched out to mingle as well and nearly ran smack into Miranda on his way to greet their uncle Bill.

“Sorry there shortstack, didn’t see you down there” he apologized sincerely with a grin “You look great” he said leaning down to kiss her cheek “How’ve you been? Where’s your shadow?”

.
“Sorry there shortstack, didn’t see you down there”

"Ha Ha Paul, I see your father must be using the family brain cell this afternoon! I'm well thanks hope you had a good honeymoon."

Suddenly Miranda had an impulse to turn to Emma and greet her with a more friendly hug, and even treated her to a soft kiss on the cheeks..

“How’ve you been? Where’s your shadow?”

"I'm well thanks for asking, as to my shadow, she is hiding from the autumnal sun" Miranda's tone was such that that topic of conversation was over...

The group settled into conversation, before the Minister interrupted them all, as the christening service was about to begin.

Miranda retreated to eh back with her glass of wine and listened in to the service. Miranda was not overly religious, and so offered the respect the service deserved but wasn't a real participant, and at the earliest opportunity she was able to refill her glass as she mingled with other family members after the service, chatting away.

She didn’t know why but she could feel her heart rate pick up a little when Miranda hugged and kissed her, there was nothing intimate or sexual about the greeting it was the same way she greeted her grandmother but something was well different and she wasn’t sure she liked that.

She did however like hearing that Sarah was not here and from Miranda’s tone she didn’t seem to be around at all anymore. She hadn’t liked the woman, thought her rude with an attitude problem and bad roots. “I’m sorry to hear that” she said softly reaching a hand out to rub Miranda’s arm, feeling she should show some sympathy for the woman.

“Chin up luv, plenty more where she came from, and with a better nose” Paul said before they left to listen to the service.

It was a lovely Christening and after the service was finished people were mingling once more, everyone but two people in the corner not too far from Miranda, engaged in a heated discussion. “But Paul, you promised, no work this weekend… ” Emma sounded as upset and disappointed as she looked.

“Look babe you know I’d rather stay here with you but this is a big deal, I gotta strike while the irons hot. Hey I know… Miranda!” he moved to get her attention beckoning the brunette to come over to them “Miranda, you’re up here for the whole long weekend right? How much of a bother would it be to keep my pretty little miss entertained while I slave over a desk full of papers?”

.

“Miranda, you’re up here for the whole long weekend right?"

"Of course I love this part of the world, I drove up last night and went for a 25 miler this morning, and if I am not too hung over will do the same tomorrow, why?"

"How much of a bother would it be to keep my pretty little miss entertained while I slave over a desk full of papers?”

"Yikes Poor you.... But sure it would be a privilege, a pleasure; though is it a wise move with leaving her with me; being a bi-sexual who hasn't had sex for over a month!" She winked at Emma playfully as she spoke "Even the ageing Bruce Willis is starting to look handsome!"

Emma glared at him she couldn’t believe he was doing this “I don’t not need a babysitter Paul, despite my height I am a big girl” She wasn’t quite sure why she was so upset, well that was a lie she knew, Paul was supposed to have the weekend off and spend it with her. She knew it sounded selfish but lately he’d always been working late, some weeks she barely saw him and that wasn’t what a marriage was supposed to be.

And then there was that comment, why did Miranda feel the need to make such little comments and her little gestures, it made Emma uncomfortable… or was she being paranoid? She was, wasn’t she? she was being totally paranoid. Paul didn’t seem to notice anything out of the ordinary in fact he teased right along with her… his whole family did. It was a family thing how could she be so weird?

“No worries my little Emma knows better than to take candy from crazy cousins” he teased her and gave Miranda another kiss “You’re a life saver, Panda. Really I owe you big time.”

Turning to Emma he smiled that charming smile that won her heart “Won’t it be fun the two of you hanging out, having a girly weekend, talking badly about men behind our backs?”
Emma just looked at him “Alright babe, you’ll thank me later, Miranda is a great girl to party with, I speak from experience.” Recalling the fun times they had going out on the town before life/work separated them “Before you know it you’ll be home with me again, but I gotta run now” he said looking at his watch before he leaned down to kiss Emma goodbye. A kiss that had she had any say in the matter would have lasted longer.

.

Miranda realised that Emma was upset. With Paul, definitely, herself possibly as she looked at them, and saw the look in her eyes as Paul kissed her briefly on the Cheeks..

"Well Paul, as you are leaving Emma in the lurch, so to speak, you can at least take her outside and give her the farewell she deserves! Emma, you are with family now, and no need to worry, but if you would prefer my company at any time this evening, or breakfast tomorrow even, just find me... Oh..."Miranda reached into her bag and took her purse, opening it up for her business card and took a pen, circling her mobile number and scribbled her room number on the back. "That's if you want to meet up for breakfast."

With out a furhter ado, she walked away from the couple, to leave them in peace as Miranda sipped her sparkling wine, and went to chat with ome other relatives, before finding the little girl in her christening frock, and decided to be a good Aunt....

Why did Miranda have to be so nice she thought. It’d be much easier to dislike her if she weren’t so damn considerate. “Thanks for the offer” Emma took the business card offered to her, scanned it and tucked it away in one of her purses zippered pockets trying to smile but failing. She was too upset at this whole situation.

“Ah, we’re…” Paul cleared his throat “I mean Emma’s staying in room 211 that’s like two doors down from you, so that’s perfect.” Paul said before Miranda left to be sociable and once she left Emma walked out with Paul into the lobby to see him off and once he was gone she stood in the lobby looking at the reception hall and then the stairs that would lead her to her room.

Social protocol dictated that she go and chat about trivial this and that with the family, but truth be told she was in no mood, to be asked when they would all be invited to the christening of Paul and Emma’s first child. She wasn’t on the clock and therefore felt little obligation to pretend at the moment. On the other hand she really didn’t feel like being all alone in the big room so she opted for a compromise and decided to take a turn in the hotel’s garden, that backed right up to the various hiking trails through the woods.

This gave her beautiful scenery to enjoy as she sipped her Merlot and let her mind wander freely. She doubted anyone would even realize she was missing from the gaggle of relatives.

.
After being an Aunt for the christened baby girl, she meandered around the ever dwindling guests, those with young children leaving first. ove were driving back to the Big apple or else where.

Once or twice she as she wandered around she looked for Emma but couldn't see her, but wasn't unduly worried.

But of course, with any family event, there were the die hards, those who would sit and socialise to the late hours. As she purchased herself a glass of Rose, she saw the red sun approach the distant mountain top, where the winter Olympics have been held two or thre times in the last century.

"What a lovely sun.."

She headed out to the garden, walking along the stream that ran down to Mirror Lake to get a view of the Sunset.

AS she turned a bend, she saw a bench with Emma as she held an empty glass. Miranda stopped, and decided to Give Emma the privacy she obviously wanted and watched the sun as she sat on a rock, sipping her wine slowly, stretching her legs out in front of her.

It was so beautiful out here, relaxing, nature so perfectly at peace that it began to rub off on Emma which was what she’d been hoping for. She needed to quiet the unsettling thoughts and doubts in her mind, only she wished she’d had had enough sense to bring the whole bottle of wine with her and not just a glass.

Sighing she continued to gaze out into the distance till the sudden snap of a twig brought her back to the here and now. Startled she sat up, whole body tensed and ready for action till she saw who the culprit, the disturber of her silent musings was.

“Oh! Miranda“ she said clutching her chest lightly “Thank God its only you… You scared the hell out of me, I wasn’t expecting anyone to be walking out here.”
