"I had no choice" has already begun.

Gas represents a very small percentage of my living expenses. Always been the case, even in California, even when I had long commutes to work.

It’s running around $3.00 a gallon now. I’d prefer that tariffs on petroleum products not be imposed, but they are being levied and gas prices most likely will rise. I doubt it will have a material impact on my monthly expenses.
So the selfish bastard speaks again...Thanks for painting the picture in colour!

BTW EVERYTHING you purchased is delivered by Truck....Fuel costs more, so does delivery.

I suspect most Americans will be livid. Look at what they said about Biden, when it wasn't directly Biden's fault. This will be squarely on Trump, and every single bushiness in the US will feel the pinch.

There’s a poor soul in Canada who is already livid! Lol

You either didn't have a commute to speak of, you're lying OR your so well off that you just don't care about the costs of things.

Work commute was 20 miles each way. Average total miles per year was about 12,000 to 15,000 miles per year. Add another 5,000 to 8,000 for wife’s car. Translates to around $3,500 to $5,500 per year at CA gas prices.

No longer commuting to a job every day and no longer paying CA gas prices. Spend about $2,500 to $3,000 max per year at the pump.

I'm not livid, I'm just trying to offer some insight for you that tariffs are not good for either country. But hey you're the fucking idiot who supports Trump so why waste my time.

You live in California. That's not a commute. That's barely a decent jaunt. I mean I'm happy for you. That's great. I've averaged 30ish MOST of my life. Now I was extremely blessed via dumb luck under late Trump early Biden into having a 7 mile commute and I honestly had no clue what gas cost for most of two years because I was putting half a tank in ever other month. It was amazing. I was definitely part of that inflation though cus the money I wasn't spending on gas just went into whatever. I hadn't bought comics in 20 years. I decided I wanted to catch up on Batman vs Ninja Turtles. So I did.

So you left Cali because you could save half on your fuel bill. Now you support a guy who will end up doubling your fuel bill ( assuming Trump actually follows through on the tariffs).

Damn you're a funny guy.

Nonsense. Gas prices had nothing to do with it. But I don’t miss the ridiculous gas taxes. I don’t support Trump’s tariffs on petroleum but if it means spending an additional $30 to $40 a month on gas, it’s not a big deal.

I just updated Wikipedia's definition of "privilege" by adding this post. 😄

Nice back peddle!! ( again we supply the crude oil for 60% of your fuel, it's not pennies on to the current price, it's several dollars a gallon increase) Using your yearly average which works out to $230.00 per month for fuel, equalling about 75 gallons a month, you're looking at an increase of about $150.00 a month.

Yes, and are you ever going to answer why Canada is being targeted? Is it that 43 pounds of Fentanyl, or those couple hundred illegal migrants pouring through your lax border control?

No backpedaling, your math is way off, and if you’re interested in learning Trump’s reasons for tariffs you can read what he’s said.

How is my math off? I based it on $3.00/gallon,with the expected 60% increase in crude prices it will equal very close to $5.00/gallon.

Kinda cute coming from the guy who thought Trump was about to lower the prices and get inflation under control....

Average gas price in the US is currently about $3.15 per gallon. If Trump imposes the 10% tariff on Canadian petroleum on March 4 and it stays in effect, how many months do you predict it will take for the average price of gas in the US to hit $5.00? Within a month? 3 months? 6 months? A year? Longer?

And show me where I ever said prices will go down? That’s called deflation and I certainly don’t anticipate that happening anytime soon. The Fed target is 2% and today’s inflation report showed the CPI running at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 3%.

lol If Trump imposes a tariff, we counter them. Maybe check out Canadian news. We're ready to fuck the USA over, even if it severely damages our own economy. That means SHUTTING OFF the 4.3 MILLION Barrels a day we send. That won't take a year to raise prices. Be a matter of weeks until the reserves run out. Then what? You think Oil companies are going to take a dent in their profits. But hey, believe what you want.

Read the bold, in both posts, (took a second to find folks, just search "inflation") you refer to lowering prices.
Check the polls. Americans are not happy with the Democrat party or the Democrat president. Inflation, Covid restrictions, crime, the border, gas prices, parental rights, supply chain…Dems are losing on a litany of issues. The GOP enjoys a significant favorability advantage. Of course the GOP will hammer Dems. They already are.

As of this morning, the RealClear average approval rating is 42.3, disapproval is 51.9. No significant change from the range it’s been within since last fall. If inflation goes away, gas prices drop, peace breaks out in Ukraine, the US-Mexico border situation gets under control, and urban crime evaporates, Biden’s polling numbers could get much better.
You're really not very good at defending what Trump is doing. I'm pretty sure you'd have voted for anyone who promised to outlaw abortion, put women back in there place, make second class citizen out of minorities and blacks, punish the legal and illegal immigrants, and remove DEI and LGBTS advances.

That's all they needed to offer for you to vote for them.

So are you predicting > $5 gas in a matter of weeks if the tariffs are imposed?

And no, you have not found any posts from me predicting prices will fall, but keep looking! 😂

If Canada cuts off the oil and electricity yes. Your dumbfuck President is now promising a 50% tariff on steel and aluminium. Quebec is the major electrical supplier to the eastern US gird. It is also the worlds leading exporter of aluminium to the US. They will not accept this, and 2003 repeats itself, except there will be no rebuilding of stations to get the power back.

Alberta's Premier is in deep shit, and can't take the tariffs on oil and her other problems and fight with the Feds, so the Feds will first place a 50% export tax, if that fails, then turning off the pumps is the nuclear option. ( Justin's has said dollar for dollar reciprocation)

I just did, and so can anyone else. But you tend to live in a fantasy world.

Ok, if Trumps tariff goes into effect 3/4 I’ll let you know in April if US gas prices hit $5.00. And no, the quotes of my posts do not say prices will drop.

BabyBoomer50s being racist:

[Elizabeth Holms riots] Geez, the case hasn’t even gone to the jury and the rioters in CA are already looting the high end fashion stores. If the verdict goes the wrong way the streets of Walnut Creek, San Francisco, and LA could be filled with blondes in black turtlenecks. Not even going to guess how this would all go down if she were black.

You’re still a racist

If you need help, here's what actual racism looks like:

Yesterday, CNN interviewed Arab Americans who voted for Trump after they heard his remarks about Gaza.

They looked sick. And they weakly pushed back with "I had no choice" to justify their support of him. (You could tell they didn't buy their own excuse - because it was garbage.)

Expect to hear "I had no choice" more and more, from every group. If you still love your country, give such folk - meaning any Trump voter - no quarter. They did this in 2024, not 2016.

Otherwise, they'll never learn, and the mistakes will continue to harm our nation. ♥️
CNN! 😭
