Tan lines as a detail in a story...

I 've used the idea of tan lines in my First Time stories not only to add pure descriptive qualities but to try and "date" the piece. It is suppossed to take place in the early to mid 80's and they were more common then. I've been married since 97 but I had already found them becoming more rare.
